Is it expensive to produce printer ink?

Why else are the prices so high? I just spent almost 100 bucks buying new cartridges, and I can get an actual printer for a decently less price than that!

Why is ink so pricey? Do the companies undercharge on actual printers and overcharge on ink because it maximizes profit?

Because DAs like you still buy ink instead of a new printer if it's cheaper for one.

Order "refill" ink from Asia. Takes a month to get here, but costs less than 5$ for what costs 60$ in store.

yes, it's called "product commitment" and you're doing it.

I would throw away printers for years when the toner got low. Just buy a new cheap printer. I need a scanner now so I am stuck buying toner. This is a racket.

Companies wised up to people just buying new printers when they needed ink. New printers only come with starter ink cartridges now that don't contain nearly as much ink as regular cartridges.

I'm surprised people still use ink jet though. I've had a laser printer for years and it uses much less toner

I just buy the refilled cartridges on Amazon and eBay

They are hit or miss sometimes but definitely cheaper by a lot

Buyou a "Brother" printer. The ink is super cheap on amazon.

I think I paid $20 for 12 of each color and black two years ago. Best printer I've ever owned as well.
