She has three of the top 5 songs on iTunes(3-5). Has she just adapted really well or has her type of music ultimately become popular again?

She's changed her sound a lot. When you're primarily a vocalist, it's much easier to adapt.

I mean, look at the relatively thin lines between some R&B/pop/even country female vocalists.

I agree. I do not personally like her, but she has done her job the last few decades.

The thing is that the popular music has moved into more electronic, which I believe is right up her alley.

Because people like you are talking about her...

I actually like Madonna--she keeps reinventing herself and her style of music...props!

I agree. So you think she is reinventing herself and adjusting with time?

If that is the case, she is awesome and is doing a great job keeping things fresh.

If that is not the case and she is still popular, just as much props because she is still a great business mogul being able to do it.

She still can sing pretty well. I like your avatar by the way.

When Madonna first played New Orleans way back in the mid 80s, word is that she showed up incognito at a Normals show that weekend.

She's a spectacular business woman. I have more respect for her and her work ethic than a lot of others in the industry.

Yeah she definitely presents herself as a business the way she continues to reinvent her image.

I'll never understand why Madonna is one of the most popular artists in music history. You take a greatest hits-type collection of her career's music, and it simply doesn't hold up for me, musically. Very sub-par. I think she has a below-average singing voice. At her most attractive, she had average looks. Her personality isn't all that likeable (remember when she adopted that ridiculous British accent?), etc.

And the other night at the Grammy's, she looked like some geriatric old lady trying oh so mightily to act sexy. Seriously, she looked like somebody's grammaw getting tossed in the air.

Just isn't my cup o' tea.

Her "Confessions from a Dancefloor" and " Hard Candy" albums have a dance/club sound and they are really good records. I believe they were released about 7 and 5 years ago respectively (or thereabouts).
