11 year old beats infant to death

11-year-old held in connection with death of infant girl
Chief Ice says the child then brought the baby back downstairs and woke her mother up. Mom says she called 911 as soon as she saw Zuri -- her head was swollen and she was bleeding.
Just sad.

This is terrible all around. And unfortunately charging this child with murder may be the right thing to do. If the child could understand that she was killing the baby, she deserves to be found guilty. If the child couldn't understand that she was killing the baby, she probably also needs to be locked up where she can't hurt anyone else until she can understand

Do they drug or alcohol test the babysitting mother in a case like this? If she was drunk or high, she should face charges as well.

First of all, kudos on being an internet badass.
Second of all, would the person torturing the 11 year old be not only a murderer, but a psychopath?
I'm not saying this kid is hunky dory, but an 11 year old showing this sort of thing belongs in a mental institution more than jail. I also don't think an 11 year old is capable of understanding the charges against them.
