So you still have to actually use a knife in the process to get a true filet?

That looks retarded. Bet I can skin them faster with my electric knife.

That's what I was thinking. What does this thing do that an electric filet knife won't? I know some people that don't have much practice with a knife tend to cut through the fish sometimes. Only positive I see about this thing.

I've been seeing it on FB

You still need to fillet the meat off the skeleton with a fillet knife so why not flip it over and fillet off the skin? seems like a gimmick.

I also can't see it working on much more than bass and specks

Looks like it gets pretty nasty. And I don't like to turn my fish fillet down on the work surface. Also, it leaves a lot of the silver stuff on the skin side, I don't leave that with a knife.

For $150, I will pass.

5 out of 6 people who reviewed it on Amazon gave it 5 out of 5 stars.

And have written very few other reviews and likely work for the company or have relatives that do.

So, it does the two easiest jobs of the filet. Answer to a question no one asked.

Endorsed by Babe Winkleman and Buck McNeely, what could be wrong with said product.

I can get after a bream with a spoon and it looks like a damn scale tornado. I need eye protection. And a blood transfusion after getting finned once for every bream I touch.
