What is the word on the Duckett fishing rods? I see that they carry them at Academy now...

I am in the market for a few new rods and I was leaning towards the Kistler Magnesium (I can get for $120/each) but thought I would get some feedback on others.

The Duckett Ghost is $99, so I guess that is the rod I am most interested in due to being in my price range.

Thanks friends

I only buy rods that Academy sells. They will exchange it no questions asked. I have a St. Croix Premium sitting in the corner right now because the tip broke and I don't feel like paying the $50 to exchange it. Broke a mojo bass and walked out with a new one in 5 minutes.

Funny you should ask. We fished a few times last year & yes his stuff is old but still working. Went to Academy one night & they had a good deal on a combo that he bought. We didn't get to fish anymore before hunting season so he's been ready to try it out.

Fenwicks and ugly sticks, for sure.
They're a few years old, (bout 35) but kinda like me.. Stiff, broken eyes, cheap, but reliable.

Duckett makes good rods.

ETA bang/buck one of the better options out there. Moreso than falcon. And I use a lot of falcons.

I'm on my 2nd micro magic rod. I broke the first one about 4 years on a hook set. I like the rod a lot. Sensitive and light weight. I bought a ghost rod towards the end of last year. I use it for various things... Cranks, swimbaits, and traps... no issues with it. My favorite rod is a St. Croix legend tournament edition FWIW...

I have three and I really like them. They're really good rods for the price.

I appreciate everyones suggestions and information

I think I might pick one up and give it a shot, I have been hearing pretty good things about them. I also like the return policy for Academy.

I have 2 Kistlers at the moment and I am happy with them, but I think they only have a 1 year limited warranty and that is it.

bought one to flip jigs with the regular size eyelets. it's very light and has a fast tip. I like it and I have two Gloomis flipping sticks.

I hear nothing but good about them in north la. I have heard much more about the micro guides than regular eyes. I am gonna grab one or two and try them out in the next couple of weeks.

Speaking of Falcon rods, what's the return/fix policy on them? I've got a 10 yr old Falcon rod with a broken tip. Academy told me I'd have to send it back to the manufacturer.
