You start to place your order. They say "Would you like to try such item"

I just want to order.

Am I cranky or just getting fat?

You're cranky because you are fat.

You're fat because you are cranky.

It's annoying.

20 years ago I worked at a fast food place, they came out with a new flavor milkshake, and the company had secret shoppers going around to all the different chains and if you offered them the new shake, you got $100.

During the month they did this "internal" promotion, milkshake sales doubled.

It works.

1. You order nothing but burgers, their profit margin is small

2. You order what they're pushing, usually fries or a drink, their profit margin is huge

Something else to consider...

At times I would notice an obese person order a normal amount of food at the counter, to go. Then they get in their car and go through the drive through to double up, thinking they are anonymous, trying to hide their shame.

In many cases, with people who have major eating issues, of which there are millions who frequent fast food restaurants on a daily basis, they are just waiting for you to "twist their arm" into ordering more food so they can "reluctantly" try the new item.

Millions.

No. I don't come here much. I am actually looking for someone.

Calls himself Monteg.

You seen him?

I don't know how fast food places work, but my store has monthly push items for each department. We usually get a good deal on them so we're pushing them out at like a 60% margin. Obviously you want to sell the shite out of a high margin like that so you mention it to everyone.

This type of thing is all over reddit also.

You'll see stories of ppl ordering at 3 different restaurants and having a feast AKA Big Mac and fries at McD, frosty and chili at Wendy's, and a crunchwrap supreme at Taco Bell.

Then they'll go home and eat it all at once
