Mullen
Clay
greedy
fulton
carter
broussard
Savion smith

All studs and lsu has a legit shot at all of them with savion smith and carter being the only ones lsu doesn't lead for at the moment. Any of these guys have safety potential?

I say lock up the kids that want to be tigers right now and will stay that way

Then use all efforts on elite lineman (offensive and defensive) and linebackers

Really want Smith. Dude was locking down 6'3 guys as a freshman. Said he lasted one day or game his freshman year before they put him on varsity.

Then two of Broussard, Greedy, Mullen, Fulton and Clay. If we can't get Smith, then three of these guys will be perfect.

Take Fulton as soon as he's ready, stay on Mullen and Smith until one or both drop and take one of the others whenever if necessary.

Agree 100%- If Carter wants to join the gumps, let him!! When you have other kids that are just as good at his position, if not better, you take them! Besides, our focus for next year is D-line & LB anyway (along with QB of course).

I'd like smith at free safety and deontay at strong, take 3 of the other corners and call it a day

Comes with the territory of being DBU. Multiple guys could be converted into safeties, with our depth they will have 1-2 years to grow into the roles both literally and physically.

Even in a year when we need DT and LB. If you have the talent you have their on the board you take these guys. A great secondary can help an inexperienced and shallow defensive line.

Honestly... I have no idea.

Considering the caliber and number of CBs we've taken the last few years and the fact that we have big needs at the DL and LB positions, and have a plethora of DL in state and doing really well going after big time LBers, I don't see us taking but a few DBs.

I mean it's not like all of those guys will want to commit / sign with us. And we have 3 stud CBs in state in Fulton, Carter, and Greedy. Focus on them and hope to flip Carter and see how the rest play out. If we can land a stud like Smith from OOS, great. If not, so be it. We will survive.

There are 3 positions that I'm not worried about for next years recruting class... DB, WR, and RB. We have done a great job landing big time players at those positions the last 2 years and don't have a pressing need for next years class. I would be thrilled if we could handpick 2 or 3 in state guys at those 3 spots and call it a day. Obviously if we can land a stud from OOS like Smith I would be thrilled too

Fulton is the best DB in the state. Led the state in interceptions and didn't play the first 3 games!

S is definitely important in this class especially if rumors are true about Voorhies being moved to LB. I think Battle will be a good one and hopefully Lewis from this class becomes one but we need some true S in this class.

At CB, it may be whoever is willing to commit first out of the group of guys interested highly in LSU.

Broussard is the one I would tell he's gonna learn S and CB. After that I recruit Fulton and Mullen the hardest.

Want Cameron Lewis and Deontay Anderson for safeties.

If they all want to come (which won't happen), I would take them all. Why not? We can still stock up in the front 7 as well. We have the luxury of being able to go light on the skill positions. We'll have the space.

Yea I agree with that... And if the staff thinks 1 of those CBs will move to Safety, I'm all for it.

Agree. Broussard is the one that doesn't seem to be a lock to be a CB of the group. He's a good CB but just don't see the elite CB skillet that the others possess. Athletically he isn't on the same playing field as the others.

Either way he really needs to add more weight. The great thing I keep reading about him is that he is easy to coach, picks up things very quickly.
