Terrell Davis is the best postseason RB ever, he should be a HOFer

#1 all-time in postseason rushing yards per game (142.5)
7 100-yard rushing games in 8 postseason games (#1 all-time with Emmitt Smith who needed 17 games to reach that mark, only time he didn't rush for 100+ yards, he ran for 91 yards averaging 6.5 YPA)
#6 all-time in postseason rushing yards despite abbreviated career (all five RBs ahead of him are HOFers)
#5 all-time in postseason rushing TDs (all four RBs ahead of him are HOfers)
Has three of the top 20 single game rushing performances in NFL playoff history (No other RB has more than one)
Carried Elway to two Super Bowls- Elway had only one game with multiple passing TDs in eight playoff games with TD. Some of the lines in his playoff games were very pedestrian. They include 10-19 for 170 yards against KC, 12-22, 123 yards in the SB against GB, 13-34, 173 yards against the Jets in the '98 AFC Championship game.
Davis was better player and had a bigger impact on his team than Bettis, Martin and a plethora of other RBs in the HOF. He should be a HOFer.

He had 4 good years - 2 great ones included in that span.

If Kurt Warner gets in, they should let Davis in

We had this same discussion last week.
Since Gayle Sayers is in, TD should be in.

I don't believe Davis is a HOFer, but Sayers damn sure shouldn't be one and Davis was easily the better player.

Too much bottle service at the Gold Club.

Talk to the people who saw him play.

Clinton Portis was at least just as good as Davis. Don't forget that he was productive in Washington as well before injuries did him in.
And Gale Sayers played what? 6 seasons? I get that his career was detailed by injuries, but there are players who has long more productive careers who were also derailed by injury and they won't sniff the Hall. His inclusion was an emotional decision, not a rational one.

I was at the game where he ended his career.
I agree with the OP. It's the Gale Sayers thing. He was in a "system" but he transcended that system.

IMO the best running back that isn't in the Pro Football Hall of Fame is Herschel Walker.
Pro Career-
NFL- 12 years
Over 18K combined yards & 84 Tds
That yardage total includes 8,225 rushing yards, 4,859 receiving yards, and 5,084 kickoff-return yards.
USFL- 3 years
Over 7K & 61 TDs
Rushed for 5,562 yards and had 1,484 receiving yards.
Total: 25,000+ yards 145 TDs

Postseason numbers
Terrell Davis- 204 carries, 1140 yards, 5.6 YPA, 12 TDs
Mike Anderson- 47 carries, 163 yards, 3.5 YPA, 3 TDs
Tatum Bell- 23 carries, 99 yards, 4.3 YPA, 1 TD
Clinton Portis- 70 carries, 214 yards, 3.1 YPA, 1 TD
In the postseason, systems are irrelevant and the cream of the crop rises to the occasion. TD stepped up his game and was unstoppable against elite competition while others got shut down. That's why the system argument isn't applicable in TD's situation.

I bet if you take a look at the Broncos roster when they were going deep into the playoffs (thus allowing Davis more carries) you'll find the reason why he was able to accumulate that many carries and thus those many yards while the other three weren't.
