The IRL Lester and Ginger were high school sweethearts. He was a sleaze but he wasn't her pimp.

I don't think it was ever suggested that Lester was Ginger's "literal" pimp - Ace's use of the word was more figurative (at least the way I took it) - in that Ginger was a hustler, which is a variant of prostitution, and that Lester would siphon money from Ginger. Ace didn't like it, but couldn't say much before he married Ginger - but after marriage, that was 100% his money and his problem.
At least that's my $0.02.

Why didn't Ace try to reason with the County Commisioner? Surely he had to have seen the repercussions of his illegal operations from pissing off the locals. Or did he really let the casino get the best of him?
