Spaceballs 2
In a 2014 interview with Parade, Brooks mentioned that screenwriter Tom Meehan had “some great ideas” for a sequel. However, Moranis’ participation (or lack thereof) has proved the biggest obstacle. “Without Rick, I wouldn’t do it,” Brooks explained. “I’ve got the helmet in storage, just waiting for him.” He added that he’s spoken with Moranis a few times over the years, but he’s “really strict” about remaining retired.

Has Mel Brooks ever made a sequel to any of his films? Just curious. TIA

Not that I know of.
And with no John Candy, this movie would lack..
But IMO, it's one of the funniest movies I have every seen, and if Rick Moranis is in it, I'd give it a shot and be in line to watch this

Moranis did like 18 Honey i shrunk the what the frick ever sequels but wouldnt do this?
I don't think another needs to be made anyway, though with the new trilogy coming out there might be a want.

He has been retired for well over a decade now. His wife died and he retired from acting to take care of his kids. I guess he enjoys living a normal life without much attention. Pretty admirable if you ask me.

Could be such win, I'm torn. Hard not seeing Dark Helmet & Barf as those guys. There's been a lot of other space stuff to camp on since the original, though.
