I love that style of play, and it is proven to be statistically better. The problem is that we don't have the depth and are constantly turning the ball over.

We need to slow down the pace and shorten the game. We play 4 guys almost the entire game, and it wears the team out. The turnovers equal easy transition baskets for the other team. This has to be a big reason we turn into a shitty free throw team at the end of games.

We also need to start rotating our big guys more. Robinson can't run the floor, but he could give us 5 minutes in a slow paced game.

Next year, run all day. This year, it just isn't working with our guard play and depth.

Generally a coach should know his teams weakness and adapt a game plan accordingly. Hopefully they don't try to run with UK.

Well depth is our 2nd biggest weakness. Mickey and Martin were made to run the floor.

We just don't have the depth to let them run the entire game, and Gray and Q don't have the handle or bball IQ to run the offense through them. Simmons will change that next year as a Point Forward.

And I agree that Jones should adapt, but this is his style as a coach, and it is who he is. It is actually a very efficient and effective style of play, one that George Karl preaches.

LSU could benefit from playing like the Pelicans, and the Pelicans would greatly benefit from playing like the Tigers

trouble is we are clueless in halfcourt especially against the zone, pushing the pace is our best chance to get easy buckets (assuming we actually finish at the rim) otherwise we're just settling for too many long jumpers, that's where this team misses and needs a johnny o'bryant.

ideally hornsby starts games out hot, gray can finish when he gets into a lane, get it in mickey's hands and get martin moving towards the goal. darcy isn't a terrible passer out of the high post so if we are going to keep that starting lineup we should be looking to get the ball in those guys' hands in position to hit a cutting martin (and hope he cleanly handles the ball) it's too bad epps had that knee injury late last year otherwise i think he'd be supplying more minutes.

Unfortunately transition points are the "easiest" way to score on UK. Get them in the half court and slow down and UK will take advantage. We score 70+ I think we win but idk if we will get there without excellent outside shooting.

Grey is a walking turnover. But the MAJORITY of our turnovers come in a half court set. We are actually pretty efficient when were running the floor.

i understand the theory. However, Auburn and Miss st. doesn't have a bench either. why didn't they tire out?

Exactly. And the pace of the last two games haven't exactly been at 1990 Loyola levels, either.

Wasn't yesterday our first loss when we scored 70 or more?

You people kill me ....... The only decent looks we get are from fast breaks or secondary breaks. This team is horrible in the half court. No one to post up and score are kick it out. They must run to beat anybody decent. And yes they will run every chance they get against UK as they should.

News Flash from las Vegas!! the kentucky game is a rout! It will be a hammer job by the wildcats, and they will dance off our floor. I just hope the tigers can keep it under 30. turnovers, poor free throw shooting, missed layups, and bricklaying from outside will doom us.

I am poormouthing to try to reverse the mojo, but I dont think it will work.

I feel the offense just free lances, theres no scheme, not alot of good looks. Then it comes down to defense and everybody crashes to the ball when some drives leaving open options where any a-hole could make the pass. All fixable issues

What people am I a part of? Weren't the a-hole just trashing Mickey earlier this year?

And yes, we do score easier when we run. Every team scores more when they run. You didn't even read what I wrote apparently.

While I see your logic, our half court offense isn't that good. We gotta run when we can, plays to our strengths. We have a marginal team with little depth.... it is what it is till next year.

I would be happy if they could establish a handful of inbounds plays. Seems elementary to me but half the time they don't run a play and when they do the opposition knows what is coming. I thought teams changed in bounds plays every few games to keep teams guessing.

Have you watched this team's halfcourt act? We don't run we got no chance.
