Back in 2007, the then Pakistani coach Bob Woolmer was killed a day after they lost to Ireland which may yet go down as the biggest upset in World Cup cricket. They still havent solved the case in the West Indies where the game was played.
That's crazy that they still haven't solved it.

Couldn't believe Sri Lanka put up 300+ after England did so but they were able to keep their top players hitting. I liked the shot from Thirimanne at 11.4. Seemed kinda nifty.

I don't get Willow. Really only watch cricket during the Cup and few occasions. It's been an entertaining World Cup so far.

Well needed rest day for the players as well as myself. I've stayed up late almost every night.

That Pakistan/Ireland final game of pool play could end up deciding who gets in and who doesnt.

Pakistan squeaked past Zimbabwe. Could've gone either way and yet another good game. As much as I like big scores, I really enjoy the low scoring, scrappy games. Kinda like watching a typical LSU vs Bama slugfest with defenses dominating. They take me back to the way cricket used to be a couple of decades back where 235 was what 300 is today. If you scored 250, back in the day, you had a 90% plus chance of winning.

Pak UAE should be uneventful. But then it's Pakistan.

Just saw the video. That England runout where the lbw was reviewed was just sad. I thought the ball would be dead but I guess not.

If I had to guess the quarterfinals it looking like:

NZ vs Pakistan
South Africa vs Sri Lanka

India vs England
Australia vs West Indies

Still 3 pretty big group games left:

AUS VS SL
IND vs WI
PAK vs IRE

Yeah I was wondering that too.

Pakistan would only have themselves to blame dropping their first 2.

A couple of good ones yesterday.

Bangladesh and Ireland still need to pull one upset for a chance of advancing.

Bangladesh has England and New Zealand.

Ireland has India and Pakistan.

I think Pakistan are pretty much through at this point. No way Ireland is winning both those games.

Agree..Pakistan is going to get AUS/SL winner and if Ireland can keep it up then they might get in over the Windies.

Ireland have a shot for sure. They still could beat Pak provided they make it a low scoring game. South Africa aren't as good as advertised. Way too dependent on Amla and Devilliers and the bowling hasn't been great.

Yeah New Zealand's bracket might be real nice for them.

Possibly no Australia, Pakistan, India
