Coaches not being completely truthful about coaching changes to recruits

Kinda unethical, no? Positional coaching is where the real development and bonding happens between coaches and players. Brian Kelly lied to the parents of his QB recruit about him staying, he's gone and the parents are now pissed. Jim Mora keeping everything under wraps until signing day was over, and then the DC news came out. Now word is breaking that OSU's RB coach is bolting, and a stud RB they got yesterday is not happy and is saying that Urban wasn't being truthful.
It is Positional coaching that makes the kids better, and I'm pretty sure they don't appreciate this crap being kept under wraps until signing day is over.
No way BK, JM, or Urban weren't aware of imminent coaching changes on the positional level

I think its kinda fricked up personally.
Not sure if its Level 10, but I probably wouldn't do it or like it happening to me.

Stuff like this makes me wish these players had more flexibility, but at the same time, guys like Daylon Mack don't need more flexibility. 
Perhaps there should be a couple of basic conditions when a player signs a letter of intent.
* Provided that my position coach is still here in August

Picking a school solely based on a coach always has been and will continue to be poor decision making on these kid's part.
I feel terrible for them that they've basically been lied to, but they should be wary of this going in.

Players should be choosing a school, not a positional coach. The school should be the overriding factor in the decision. If that's the case, then any one coaching change shouldn't have a significant impact on the recruit.

No one picks a school SOLELY bc of a coach but it's definitely a huge factor. You should know this man. You got nick Saban

Commit to the school. Not a coach. Coach is never guaranteed to be there the 3 years the player is required to be. I know a relationship with a coach is a key factor in getting a player to a school but if a kid can't see himself at the school without the coach there, its probably not the right fit to begin with.

First off, sour grapes that you didn't get Mike Weber.
Secondly, it obviously really sucks if the guy that really recruited you is leaving immediately before you get there but that's life. Ohio State will find someone just as good as Stan Drayton to coach the running backs.
It's not any more shady than a recruit being solidly committed to a school for months and then flipping on national signing day when there is no more recruits to fill that spot.
It's all a business. This kid will be fine.

Let's say you are a safety and you llike two schools. Both have good teams constantly competing for championships and good academics. Both very close to home. You can't really decide between the 2 bc you like them both equally and you would basically have a chance of starting or getting a lot of PT your first year at either school.
One school has a DB coach who is a great recruiter and known as one of the best in CFB at getting kids ready to play and drafted in the NFL. One school is a solid defensive team but isn't known for having outstanding DBs but the DB coach seems like a cool guy.
Which school would you pick

Lol no it's not! If all things were equal besides one school having an elite DB coach and one school not you would obviously pick the school with the better coach! Let's be real

Deliberately keeping coaching changes from players is horrible. People disagree but I think it's perfectly fine to choose a school because of a coach. I did it and it saved my career. I realize coaches can leave once you've started school(without it being fricked up) but that's just the nature of sports and the job world.
College football is development for the NFL for many players. Lying it them about coaching changes during recruitment is horrible.
