Never had the urge, but the time is here. I want to leave Legend purgatory. Show me the light. Any recommendations on studio albums, tunes etc?

Might be cliche because he is by far the most known reggae artist, but I fricking love Bob Marley.

Catch a Fire is my favorite studio album by him. Side II is truly flawless with

6. "Stir It Up"
7. "Kinky Reggae"
8. "No More Trouble"
9. "Midnight Ravers"

It really doesn't get any better than that. What a sequence

For live stuff I like Talkin Blues

They were simply The Wailers back then, mon (NOT Bob Marley). Later, referred to as BM and the Wailers.

Anyway, dig Tosh´s stuff more from this album:

First one I ever bought was Babylon by Bus. It's a collection of live stuff, and I rocked the shite out of it.

There is also a recording session of them in The Record Plant in Sausalito, CA that is really good. I think it's Halloween 1973. You will have to search for that one. I'm not sure you can buy it.

I've always liked Exodus, yeah I know it's too studio and polished, but man the groove is great !!!!

the early Wailer stuff with Tosh and Bunny is the bomb though ....

Just go ahead and splurge and get his Songs of Freedom box set.

Babylon by Bus is probably my favorite live album of any band.

The Wailers are here in Denver tomorrow night and playing Legend in its entirety. I'll definitely be there. The same theater I'm going to see The Expendables at tonight.

Yes, definitely worth it. I was given this as a Christmas present one year. So much good stuff on it.

Appreciate all the recommendations!

Started burning a whole in a gift card from Christmas and grabbed Catch a Fire and Exodus last night. I'm really feeling those first several tracks on Exodus. I love that dark, driving sound on Guiltiness, Natural Mystic, and Heathen. I'm definitely going to be grabbing a couple more real soon. Does anyone know if this stuff is hard to find on vinyl? Originals?
