I have a buddy in atl and I'm on swla. What's the most cost effective way of shipping beer? And how are you guys packing it?

Bubble wrap around the bottle, more bubble wrap around the cluster of bottles, two layers of trash bags, and packing paper is my SOP.

wrap lots and lots of bubble wrap around beer, place in box, and ship via fed ex. The best way to do it is to find some wine shippers.

UPS. Make a pre made label online and just drop it off at a UPS store.
Bubble wrap the shite out of it, put that in a trash bag then secure it tightly in a box

I use these also but still bubble wrap the beers before they go into the box. The 12oz bottles shake around quite a bit if you don't wrap them properly as the boxes are made for wine bottles.
Also, if you have some empty CD cases, put some pennies in them to offset the noise of the liquid in the bottles. You never know when UPS/Fed Ex will want to open your box if they feel you're shipping liquids (beer).

I think you should get one of your redneck buddies with an 18 wheeler and a CB radio and get in your black trans am and hightail it to florida all the while running from a crazy sheriff and his half wit son. But that's just me.

it isn't against ups/fed ex policy to ship liquids. The only thing would be that you didnt have the receiver have to sign saying they were 21. I've never had an issue shipping beer, never been questioned about what is in my box, etc.

If I'm sending really good stuff, Styrofoam containers every time. If not, bubble wrap around bottles, then add more bubble wrap, then pack more bubble wrap, shipping paper, news paper, etc to make sure nothing moves around and everything is packed tight. 2 trash bags around it all. Into the box.
I ship UPS or FedEx. Make a label and print at your house. Drop off box to facility. If they ask what you are shipping, which they never have for me, I would say china.
My boxes always weigh around 20lbs

Just found this on the Fed Ex website:
Prohibited or Restricted Articles
Alcoholic Beverages
Only licensed entities may ship alcohol of any type with FedEx. For more information, go to fedex.com/us/wine. Consumers may not ship alcohol.
Licensee to Licensee. FedEx will accept alcohol shipments (beer, wine and spirits) when both the shipper and recipient are either licensed wholesalers, licensed dealers, licensed distributors, licensed manufacturers or licensed importers, subject to additional requirements and all applicable laws and regulations. Contact your FedEx account executive for complete details.
Licensee to Consumer. FedEx will accept wine shipments from licensed entities directly to consumers, subject to additional requirements and all applicable laws and regulations. Contact your FedEx account executive for complete details. Shipments of beer or spirits to consumers are prohibited.
Of course all of us follow these rules....

Convince a good friend to drive to Chicago while you are there and load the back of their SUV with as many cases as it will hold and have them drive it back to BR. At least that's what works for me.

I've done the throughout bubble wrap thing and taken it to the post office. I wanted a good friend to try Canebrake and Envie, which he loved. They turned out to be almost ten bucks a beer. The shipping is the expensive part. Don't tell them that it's alcohol.

Wine shippers. I have never lost a soldier using a wine shipper.
