I fricking love my 4K, I get the hesitance to wait until OLED comes out or the 4K technology for mature, but if you can go out and get a nice 4K SmartTV LED for less than $1k.....totally worth it

I refuse to believe that. Either I can't read charts or it's suggesting that I shouldn't tell the difference between a standard def channel and an HD channel sitting on my couch.

How far are you away from your TV?

ETA: Honestly, most people aren't farther than 15 feet from their TV.

Here is another graph just showing 4k:

I'm not sure. I was trying to estimate it in my head and I settled on ~18ft so that it supports my stance that the chart is wrong.

If you are 18ft from your TV, unless you have like a 90' TV....... I strongly doubt your TV is even big enough, you sure about the 18ft thing?

The first chart says just under 20' from a 64" all resolutions look the same right?

Whatever it doesn't matter. My TV is probably closer to 8' away anyway.

that's basically what it's saying, but the fact that you have a 64" and you can put up with it, means you are closer than 18'

If I had to guess, you are probably more in the 12" zone, it's farther than 2 people, and can warp our perception. I thought my TV was farther away from me, bought a 60" the other day and it looked like I had put up a movie theater screen in my house....... it was awful, and I had to return it.

I'm leaning towards the WW bundle if it's still available, but maybe another one will be out when I finally scratch together the money.

I wouldn't mind MK8. Won't play Bayonetta 2.

It's most definitely closer to 8-10 ft from the couch. The current configuration of the living room makes it kind of snug. The wife has to rearrange shite every few months. Every time I find my sweet spot on the couch for gaming, I come home and she moved everything around. I still refuse to believe I wouldn't be able to tell the difference between 4k and 1080 from my current viewing distance though. I'm tempted to go get a 4k from Rent A Center and test it.

$180. I could probably go craigslist for one, but I want to make sure it actually works and I'm not sure how you do that at McDonalds.

I got an escrow surplus check in the mail and we're doing taxes hopefully soon, so it shouldn't be too much longer, unless the money needs to go somewhere else.

I'm about 10 ft away FWIW. I could bump up to that 55" 4k but it would be pointless. Even at 1080p I won't be getting the full benefit with a 55".

Then they introduce ANOTHER mechanic that doesn't seem like it will be any fun

What mechanic? The only real thing they introduce is summons, but they're not super important.

i sit about 10-12' feet from my 4K and i can definitely notice the difference in picture quality when i switch between 4k YouTube videos and 720p/1080p videos. that's just my experience tho.

It's that glowing orb that changes the weather. Some creatures retreat, others come out.

Maybe it will be fine, but I wasn't super excited about it.
