So what's our Depth chart looking like at linebacker, assuming we stick to a 4-3

I can see Tolver getting significant snaps at boundary corner later in the season.

And whoops. Got too excited about Toliver.

We didn't lose many if any significant line backers from last season.

I think Feist is the 2nd to best lb on the team.

Without Chavis here to play favorites you'll see more Debo and Feist and less Louis

Saw a q&a with CFW on facebook where he was asked a question about linebacker recruiting. Frank responded that we had 7 on the roster and will bring in some with the 2016 class. Not sure if that Q&A has already been posted so forgive me if this is a repeat of info.

We play a lot more nickel these days with 3 corners and two safeties. The most important part of our defense is the middle linebacker beckwith and having shut down corners. I think our weakness last year was not having great defensive ends that could get pressure on the qb while only rushing 4. I think valentine will be a huge help in the middle and allow more stunting and blitzing. Our tackles were lighter than we have had in the past and couldn't get a push inside. A year in the weight room will help. The talent is there. Linebackers are used less and less these days. Would like more bodies however. A couple key injuries could be devastating. Adams is essentially a linebacker with his size.

We need to recruit bigger linebackers. Look at Bama's recent recruits. I also agree that Chavis played favorites and it cost us many games during the 2013 season.

Do you realize we just got a new DC. We don't do a lot of anything yet.

i dont think its going to be that big of a deal, I think we will see more 3-4 principles and will use more DE's as LB's so you really only need two LB's in the middle, it may look more like a 50 look...just sayin...

I heard were moving LF7 to linebacker. Soley cause you're concerned with the depth.

Have you watched football other than a lineup sheet? The tendency across the board with all colleges and pros is more of a nickle package. Even a 5 man front with two linebackers or one linebacker and 5 in the secondary. The game has evolved into more of a pass catching league with emphasis on speed. I agree we are thin at linebacker. I would have rather recruited a linebacker versus an extra tight end or receiver. We just didn't have anyone that was on our board that fit and we weren't going to reach for someone less talented.
