Listening to him call the Washington/Oregon game right now on ESPN2 is great.
He is hilarious and his nonsensical tangents are classic.
Just called a player from Oregon, Snoop Dogg. Play by play guy actually asks, "What are you talking about?"
Bill's response, "I asked him if I could call him Snoop Dogg, he looks like Snoop Dogg, so thats what I am going to call him.

I doubt he's drunk.
I suspect he is just not on the same wave length as you are.
A lot of his references are pretty esoteric.
I watched 2 minutes and he used a word I never heard in a sports program before in my life and I wondered how many viewers could follow him.
and that floor is atrocious.
Pretty rude about Snoop Dogg, if he did that. IMO: Snoop is one ugly man.
One thing i realized a long time ago, if you recruit based on what guys look like, you will miss out on some very good basketball players.

He is the absolute worse...he deals only in the greatest ever...
Everybody he talks about is the greatest ever...he is the only commentator that ever frustrated me enough to write an email to a network to bitch...back when he did the NBA playoffs...my favorite line was him calling Robert Horry "the greatest defensive player of this generation"
