I've read a few posts mentioning he will likely go the JUCO route.
Does that give us any guarantee that he will be a tiger after this? Just wondering because it seems that players open up their recruitment once they leave JUCO.

Absolutely not. Cutrer is the only JUCO to re-sign with LSU in recent memory.
Comes down to our needs and depth chart.

No, he will probably go through the whole recruiting process again.

See that's what I though. So are we technically "wasting" a spot for someone who might come.

No it doesn't give us a guarantee. These rarely work but just recently did with Jeremy Cutrer. It does point to the fact that Martin wants to end up at LSU if he gets things in order and he's still a guy that works from a numbers/needs perspective for LSU in a year or two.

247 guys aren't really considering him a part of the 25 unless we miss on Reid. Moreau has been confirmed, putting us at 24. If we get Reid, then they won't take his LOI, if we don't get Reid, they will (sign and place, blah blah blah, signs with someone else in 2017, blah blah blah).

No. He doesn't get a scholarship. He's only committing. No LOI.
