Will Prob get around 90-100 reps
I finished rd 1 at 1:50 feeling great, the second round just killed me, my TTB on my third were actually faster. I really wanted to get thru 3, but I just lost the ability to keep my lats and shoulders engaged like I need to get the toes on my big arse to the bar.

Then my strategy was to go 165, 195, and it was easy as pie. So I took some time and went 217, thinking I could execute and have one shot at 225 or 227 depending on how it felt.....wrong, failed 217 twice, then got it on try three.

I'll take a 1RM of 255 and my score given that.
why were you so far behind your 1RM? Not attacking, just asking, most everyone I know is somewhere around 95% with a few PRs thrown in there.

My 1RM is 227, so my 217 is in the 95% ball park.

im thinking I'll go 185 to start, just to get a feel and get a number under my belt. Then jump to 215 or 225 and see how that goes. Work up or down 10lbs from there depending on how those lifts go

I may redo on Monday, if I do, I am going to have a more extensive lifting warm up and jump right into it heavier.

Good luck.

How many of you have beards? Every crossfitter I know out here has one. I am not making fun but it seems like it is a thing with crossfitters.

ut I also wasn't making fun of people for practicing either

Wasn't making fun of anyone practicing. Would never knock anyone for trying to improve. Without going back to read what I posted, I think my point was that that close to the competition the likelihood of making significant improvement was slim. Like a high school coach/teacher of mine used to say at the end of our science tests, "you either know it, or you wish you did."

Maybe it wasn't your intent but you came off very arrogant

Definitely not my intent.

We had 80 sign up at GCF.

I tried to drop in at CF Eado today, but those dumbasses have a Level 2 Cert class today and tomorrow, so it's closed this weekend.

You would think they would have remembered the dates of the open workout and scheduled this last week.

..my DUs have improved the last month, so practice does help.

Been nursing a knee injury for probably a year (think sustained it in the open last year. Saw B Bankston finally for a MRI late last year and confirmed lateral meniscus tear with arthritis and erosion behind knee cap. Need to have surgery to clean it up. Been guarding injury & tentative to do deep front squatting and have only been doing power cleans instead of "true" cleans with a deep front squat.

Thus not dropping under weights that I can easily pull.

I'm going to try an average 90 secs the first two rounds and then hope for 2 mins per the next 3 for 5 rounds.

I've been told to not try more than 5 TTB reps at a time. Take your time with TTBs and blow through DL and snatches.

Funny you say that, I noticed it too. I am baby faced, I cant grow a decent beard or I would....of course I may not be a true crossfitter.

the stronger guys at our place went 8 and 7 to start for a while, then 5s. But even a fella that went 197 was breaking them up into 2s and 1s at the very end.

Personally I only did 45 TTB, more than I have ever done, and my grip was pretty beat up.

Good advice that I'll have to heed when I redo it Monday. Our guy made the suggestion, but I had a good rhythm going and did want to get off the bar in the middle of it. Did first 10 TTB unbroken and then did them in varying chunks. Definitely going to do fives all the way through.

More goal for the first two rounds is 50 secs to complete TTBs and 40 secs to complete the DLs and snatches.

If I'm feeling alright, I'll try to keep the pace in round 3, but if I need a break, I'll drop to a 60/60sec break for a 2 min average.

My only worry is that I'm used to doing TTBs on fat pullup bars that aren't very rough. If I do it at Eado, it's your typical smaller pullup bar that are pretty rough. I bet my hands will be fricked after tomorrow/Monday.

My forearms were dead. Today was my first time doing a clean & jerk. It was interesting but I had some good coaching from a friend

My cholesterol level stayed the same, about 140 total, but my ratio between LDL and HDL improved a lot.

My BP on my last doctors visit dropped to 110/75 from 125/80 levels from several previous visits.

The only thing different was the cardio being added from CF.

It's the interwebz, tone can be hard to get on a computer screen.

ETA: Did you go to CHS-BR? Thought I remember you saying so. If you did, seems like I remember thinking we were there at the same time.
