I'm sure I brought this up when it was announced they were taking over the old Popeye's location, but God knows where that thread is. Anyway, I'm just curious about opinions.

I'm not expecting, say, Kokopelli's (RIP) or City Greens (I think it's pretty damned good for what it is. But is Izzo's worth a couple of block's walk if you want something simple and you're not in the mood to cook and don't want to get in your car?

No unreasonable, snobbish hate. But I do want reasonable opinion.

I haven't been in a couple years, but it was always serviceable as a burrito. It is mexican food after all.

There are probably better fast burrito joints that will be brought up, but it comes down to personal opinion.

but, Felipe's is so close

I kind of remember something about them having breakfast tacos. I'd be willing to check that out but I'm just not a fan of the burritos.

Of that type of restaurant, I think Izzo's is probably the best. Easily prefer it to places like Chipotle or Moe's. More toppings and I think the proteins have a little more flavor. I think that more or less answers your question. If you find places like that to be an acceptable dining option, then yes, it's worth a visit. If you're too good for that type of establishment, you'd probably need to avoid it.

I made that mistake today when I was out shopping. Disgusting. The chorizo flat out tasted bad and was deplorably greasy. And it completely disagreed with my digestive system.

Matisyeezy gives a pretty good summary. It's my favorite of this style of restaurant. You choose everything that goes in your burrito, and I feel the ingredients are quality. The only downfall is they can be a bit inconsistent at times. But when they're on, it's very good. I like the spinach tortillas the best.

I rarely do the Mexican Subway places, but if I do (and it isn't Zippys) I do Izzos. Way better than Qdoba, if that even still exists.

The best part of Izzos for me is that they do online ordering. Being short, I hate going places where you have to shout your toppings through that glass. With the online ordering, it is a checklist so you see things you didn't even know they offered.

I do the nachos, usually.

They don't have a Qdoba over in Towne Center anymore?

You can probably make them at home cheaper so it's apparently not worth it.

It is easily the best of that style restrnt. I use them for work often... Catering a fajita bar to clients meetings.... Its typically a hit.

Their stuff is fresh & made inhouse. I dig that.

I enjoy their chips and salsa too.

Their chicken is way too dry though.

How do you think that would pair with a nacho cheese fountain?
