My heartburn is out of control the last couple of weeks especially early in the morning and during the night. For several years now it has just been a problem after drinking a lot of beer and I could take some antacids for temporary relief. It's to the point now where I need to look for a long term fix. From yalls experience, what would yall suggest I do as far as tackling this?

Need to go to a GI and get checked.

How old are you?

Obviously get it checked out.

But Nexium is a miracle for a lot of people. Famotidine also works for me but not on the same level.

Prilosec. Get the script from your doc, it's a lot cheaper than OTC

That could cover up a real significant issue.

If it's that severe he oughta get looked at first, IMO.

I was having issues with heartburn a few months ago. I would start having chest pain at work constantly so I decided to go to see someone. My physician told me that it was only heartburn and to take prilosec or generic omeprazole twice a day. I haven't had any problems since.

Definitely go to the OT for all of your gastrointestinal concerns. Obviously a much better idea than going to see a gastroenterologist.

Start out taking 2 Prilosec for a couple days straight, then take one a day.

About a year and a half ago I was having tons of heartburn. If I was out at a bar drinking beer or bourbon, I would have to eat a bunch of Tums. Like half a bottle.

Went to the doctor and he wrote me a prescription of Omeprazole (Prilosec) 40 mg. I've been taking it since then and it's been a life changer.

Go to the dr and get a script of Nexium. Works wonders but be warned, shite isn't cheap

I was amazed at how much just drinking a few glasses of milk a day helped. It doesn't seem Iike it would do much but drinking a glass before bed was a game changer

Cut out fast food and reduce alcohol consumption. I would do that before starting any medicine.

Nexium is now OTC. Get nexium and lay off the beer. It will cause massive heartburn.
