You guys should listen to me more often

quote:

Hes a great player for sure and would be great for another team but any team that spends that kind of coin on him for a guy as old as he is would be, dumb for the lack of a better word (welker I'm talking about)

quote:

quote: Ryan Swope to the Patriots... Doubt it. I think they want to revamp how they play on offense with bigger WRs and Edleman taking over the slot A guy like Keenan Allen in the draft if he falls would be perfect, as would be a ton of FA WRs

Lafell= bigger WRs, Keenan Allen is a beast.

quote:

Edleman was explosive this year and much more versitile this season when he was on the field than Welker. I would love to give him the reigns at Slot WR and save about 8 million

Caught a lot of shite for this

quote:

Im just telling you what ive seen with my own eyes. Edleman at 4 million a year > Welker at 11 million a year

quote:

quote: Amendola who can't stay healthy? Meh. Would rather promote Edleman

quote:

(talking about Ryan swope) Dude is one hit away from not having a career. No thanks

Pretty sure Ryan swope career was ended with one hit in rookie training camp

And now some Gems by other people

quote:

why would they? he'll go disappear on some other team that over pays for him. And, the Pats are gonna draft another WR late in the draft and just plug him in. They just paid Gronk a ton of money to be hurt, which was a terrible move, IMO.

quote:

It's truly hilarious that you call people out for comparing a nobody to a good player when earlier in the thread you were comparing Julian fricking Edleman to Wes Welker.

Oh how dare i

quote:

Oh god. The guy saying that a receiver who had 21 catches for 235 yards was "explosive" is saying I didn't watch any Patriots games

quote:

If by versitle you mean he can be a shitty nickle CB while also being a shitty slot receiver then yeah, he's versitle.

Edleman you the real MVP

I first took note of Edelman in 2012 when off some bonkers Kick Off play, the ball bounced into the air and he caught it mid stride and ran it for a TD

I noticed him all game, then took notice of him the rest of the year, but props to you

I never thought he could do what wes welker did. He has gotten so much better since last year when he effectively became the #1 due to amendola's injury

Everyone took notice of him at first in his rookie season whenever he filled in for welker for the playoff game. He was the lone bright spot for the game. Then he kept getting little nagging injuries the next 2 years that kept him from being a consistent player but you could tell McDaniels LOVED him. He was even starting a couple games over welker in that last season welker was a patriot

Then DOLA got signed and kind of took all of his bad injury mojo away and Edleman just got better and better.

His throw for a touchdown just makes my comment about versatility even better

He's also Jewish and from San Mateo County, just like Tom Brady!

Edleman

is a hell of a football player, I remember watching him play nickel back a couple years ago thinking it to myself. Scrappy, smart, athletic, always hungry, and plays with passion in between the whistles

The Pats really do have a lot of good players around Brady.

Michaels and Collinsworth were literally saying these very things about him last night. I was laughing my arse off, anxiously awaiting the "has a high football IQ" and "wears his hardhat to work" sentiments.

He's gonna get overlooked, but man did he show his value in this offense last night or what? He had 11 receptions and it seemed like 8 or 9 of them went for first downs (it probably wasn't 8-9, but it was a lot). He's been a hell of a player for them for awhile now.

He's been super inconsistent for his entire career. He's got all the talent in the world but will have 5 bad plays for the 7 good ones he has in a game. I'm glad he was on the good side of his consistency last night

I don't think the Pats will resign him

He's been injured a lot, but he's enormously valuable in their pass heavy gameplans. I agree he doesn't get resigned, but they'll need to find another RB who is so good in the passing game like he is.
