I can list the beers that I've had in my life ...
Budweiser
Miller Lite
Miller High Life
Abita Turbo Dog
Heineken
... I've never actually BOUGHT a beer before ... never been a beer drinker.
I just preferred liquor. I want to give beer a shot.
Seeking recs for beer that doesn't taste like shite. TIA.

Go somewhere that serves flights. Try them all. Figure out what style you like most and go from there.

The best beers will take some time for your palate to adjust to. Start with some gateway beers and work your way up....

This. Chimes is a good start if you're in BR. Belly up to the bar, and ask one of the servers what you told us here. Most are well versed enough to give you good representatives of several beer styles.
