Would you buy a Steam Machine for HL3 and Portal 3?

I know it's a pipe dream but if Valve made these 2 games Steam Machine only I would buy 2 of them for my house. One for me and one for my sons.
Give me HL3 and Portal 3 and take my money.

If HL3 ONLY comes out on a steam machine (which won't happen), yes without hesitation. Daddy needs his Gravity gun so he can launch saw blades through the heads of zombies and combine. Oh, and dat crowbar

Valve will never make those titles SteamOS-exclusive. But if they did, just use your existing gaming PC (or build one if you don't have one) and throw SteamOS (or some other flavor of Linux) on a separate partition for those titles. There's nothing proprietary about the hardware in "Steam boxes."

I really wish there was a retail market for mobile CPUs, boards, and GPUs just for builds like that. Then maybe it wouldn't cost $900 to buy a GTX 980M.

Me too. I researched around before building my HTPC and it's just too expensive to try to replicate something like that yourself.
