What's sad is 75% of these workers want to be working but have to follow the shepherd. No work, no pay except for the $26 per day they get from the Union during the strike.

Reading all of this art work... I'm staff we had to come in at 8:00 pm with three weeks worth of clothes and personal items. Hopefully we will hear something by 11:30 pm.

No. but to be taken seriously, you can't offer half of the asking price, nor can you reasonably ask for twice the book value.

I understand negotiations. Been through four since I started working in my current job. Two of those were with USW as our affiliation. I can honestly say that we had better contracts when we were affiliated with anyone other than them.

Forgive my cluelessness, as I have only worked briefly at one plant that was non-union, but what legally stops an employer from just cleaning house and hiring non-union employees, hypothetically?
I mean, I understand logistically it's not possible, but aside from that.

Nothing. Can and has been done. There would be lawsuits and all.

Right, obviously if there are enough union employees you can't afford to lose the millions/day while you wait to fill empty spots with people who don't need training, nor afford to train new employees for months while units are shut down.
Was just curious of the legalities is all.
