Martin got in foul trouble and therefore played soft.

We miss too many layups and free throws. The fact we somehow didn't have a shootaround today is crazy

Pintail, I see you know nothing about basketball nor were you able to give a good answer to my question. We have players on the bench that are not in foul trouble. You put those guys in to foul out of timeouts, which jones failed to do at least three times when the clock was stopped. You foul and then you substitute your starters who are in foul trouble back into the game for offense. Why did jones not do this?

CJJ is a Dale Brown protege, after all. Look at the bright side, though. We'll probably beat Kentucky

It's somewhat remarkable that they (LSU) have had the success they have ... they are undisciplined, play poor defense, they turn the ball over WAY too much, they are an average free throw shooting team when they are making some, and they don't execute an offense. They are a reflection of their coach, who is a recruiter.

Welp..terrible loss. No point in worrying about it. Gotta bounce back and beat Auburn Thursday.

We have a pattern of playing very poor on early Saturday home games. Mind boggling...

Once a team goes into the vaunted 2-3/3-2 zone vs us.....its anyone's game. still have no clue why we struggle so much vs a zone?! I'd throw every zone D in the book at LSU from here on out!

Q-man o for six from three point line. 1 for 10 from the field.
No center play and no bench.

Monday the Sagarin will come out. I am guessing LSU is back on the bubble in the 60's.

An incredible 21 shots missed in the paint. Make frickin' four of 21 and you win the damn game. 10 missed free throws, mostly by Mickey which turns his potential great game into only a good game. Most of the 15 turnovers were unforced. Martin and Quarterman played like they were drugged. Again, missing Patterson was huge. He's an integral part of their rotation. They failed to get back on defense about a dozen times. Mickey got some sort of ankle injury which should have prompted JJ to go to a zone more often. In spite of all that BS, LSU still could have won the game. This team is potentially great but something keeps popping ups every few games. 5 single-digit losses. Easily could be undefeated with better discipline and a little better luck.

Agreed Aegis. I caught some heat for not being able to enjoy our last two wins, but to borrow a line from little Satan, it was the process not the results that upset me.

We've had at least 15 turnovers in every SEC game including Florida.

Our inbounds sets are atrocious and we compound that by having the wrong guys throwing it in IMHO. Martin is maybe our poorest passer on a team of many poor passers and Epps has barely played all year.

Our defensive awareness and rotation is still lacking even with bigger guards.

Eventually that catches up. Q is never going to hit 6 threes in a game probably ever again. Hornsby is not always going to hit the huge 3's to keep us in games and Gray's 14 and 10 against Ole Miss probably isn't going to happen on even a semi-regular basis.

It all caught up today and continues to be a concern.

Now, we have two very winnable home games coming up which could put us at 7-3 going into the Kentucky game. That's about where I thought we would and should be at that point, but as we've seen, home wins or any wins other than Florida will continue to be a frustrating struggle unless the light suddenly comes on and the silly fundamental flaws are overcome.
