Former Tigers defensive tackle Kyle Williams said LSU's inconsistency with quarterbacks has been difficult to explain considering what the program has to offer.

"I think that's been kind of the baffling thing over a long time. It's such a great university and at the top of the heap in college football and they've had trouble filling that position," said Williams, a four-time Pro Bowl player with the Buffalo Bills. "Here and there you've had one, but they haven't consistently had a quarterback play at a high level."

To be fair, the quarterback position and offensive play wasn't really the problem in 2013.

Are you kidding me? - Other than a few out-of-context quotes, those are all sunshine pumping, Miles defenders - every single one.

No matter how good the team is, let's go with any level of football, if you don't have a quarterback, it's hard to win," said cornerback Patrick Peterson, a four-time Pro Bowl player with the Arizona Cardinals who played at LSU from 2008-10. "If you don't have a quarterback that can manage the game and get the job done, it's hard to win. It really is."

When interviewed for this article JJ responded "I played great during my time at LSU, I'm not sure what the problem was."

You have to expect Miles to change the pattern. The entire sports universe sees the QB problem.

He alone is responsible for changing it. The head coach makes four time the money of any other assistant. He must ensure capable QB play.

I thought they were actually in the middle..the realistic Tigers that appreciate their coaches, but see the problems currently. An interesting concept for many of you on either extreme.

I'm a certified Positiger(tm) and I can conclusively state that our QB recruiting, development and performance has been well below expectations and standards, except 2013, since Ryan Perilloux was dismissed from the football team, period.

I don't think anybody on TD disagrees that we have quarterback issues

There's no excuse for LSU not to have that offense or better every season.

What? So every year you expect our qb to almost throw for more yards in a season than any lsu qb ever ( mett was 260 yards away from this) and our rb have the 2nd greatest season for a rb in lsu history (hill had the 2nd best single season in lsu history in 2013)

I hate our ignorant fan base.

OBJ is right about our roster being the most athletic from top to bottom!

Since beckham gripes in the article, I feel the following statement is more than fair game:
Les didn't fumble the ball that cost us the Georgia game last year.

On the perimeter the want for good play is there. If you take the completed passes and see completions in victory there is opportunity for play. Being consistent is certainly the development role we want to achieve with our players week in and week out.

That article was terrible.

Plus i can easily point out where obj lost us games. 2012 dropped passes after dropped passes. 2013, the fumble against UGA.

And yeah we struggled at qb while Peterson was here, no doubt about that, but had he and JJ not got hurt in that 09 game against bama, we could have won that game.

Kyle williams played for saban and Miles. Two of those seasons he had Jmarc and another he had to endure saban and Marcus randall.

So to me the qbs issues werent just under one coach.

He is right though, again but it seems to happen under multiple coaches.

Stefan Lefors was the last qb From Louisiana to get drafted. That was in 2005. Why did saban let him get away?
