My wife makes me jelly every year. Always loved Mayhaw jelly but Muscadine seems to be really good this year. Any other really good home-made jellies yall would recommend?

Fig preserves I really like off and on. Blackberries must go in cobbler....cant wait for jelly.

Plum jelly is really good non-store bought.

Big Red - you cant go wrong on. Reliable is the same but smaller, BUT may have less rust. I spray mine at least twice per season, usually 3 times. if you have cedar trees in the vicinity then rust will be a big problem

My wife began using a the low-sugar Sure-Jell last season. she didnt tell me of the switch. Best jelly ever. The lower sugar content makes the actual taste of the fruit more noticeable.

yep...if there is a cedar tree within a half mile, I wouldn't even bother planting a mayhaw...

I have a mayhaw that has never had a single fruit mature because of rust...

Spankum, spraying will keep the rust down to minimum until late in the season. After we finish our harvesting is usually the time the rust will take over. If u spray the fungicide right at leaf break, about two weeks later and right at the beginning of flowering you should be good. that being said...i dont know your situation sooo i could be incorrect. 4 years ago i tried not spraying at all (just to see)....and got 100% coverage of rust on all fruits.
