The episodes of Wan the first avatar in Legend of Korra is some of the best animation and story I've seen since Spirited Away.

i liked the first two seasons of Korra but the ending of season 2 soured me on the series. I think it went too many seasons personally.

But some of the episodes just have a magic about them to me. But Last Airbender is some of the most underrated animation in recent history it's amazing.

Also, Is Legend of Korra any good?

It's like a more mature version of the original so yes. All the seasons (books) are pretty good although book 2 is lacking. Book 3 is the reason Nick took Korra off the air and put online only. Oh you will see

Bunch of stuff in Book 4 as well, particularly the end. I don't buy for a second they pulled it from the air because of ratings.

Definitely. Book 3 you keep asking yourself "How the hell did they get away with this?" pretty much every episode in the second half of the season. They clearly took inspiration from Game of Thrones for the later two seasons, and they're both great. It was taken off the air I'm sure solely because of its dark material. Everyone was hoping that they'd end the show in a certain manner, but no one thought they'd be allowed to do it, but somehow they got away with it, and no amount of BS from Nick will convince they didn't take it off the air for the content.

Just finished the first season of Legend of Korra.

Not bad...really liking Korra as the main character compared to Aang but I don't really like Mako and Bolin as much as Sokka and Katara. I did like the troll job in the first episode about "What happened to Zuko's mom?"

My only complaints are killing off Aman and the fact that the new General Iroh has the same voice actor as Zuko. .

Korra does have some wonderful villains, and it's more episodic in scale. But Korra and Aang's arcs are really opposites. Aang's arc was more geared toward accepting his position in the world as the Avatar, while Korra has no issue with that and feels as if she's completely defined by being the Avatar (hence her attempted suicide at the end of this season). Korra's arc really has more to do with accepting herself as a person rather than her position in life, since even at this point, she still hasn't even remotely considered anything about herself beyond her position as the Avatar.

But really, Season 1 is different from the other 3. The first season is really an homage to Batman: the Animated Series and the Roaring 20s, while the later three seasons more form a trilogy, and everything clearly builds up to the next. Really, you could skip Season 1 of Korra and completely understand it from watching Seasons 2-4. Season 2's first half is a bit of a chore, but the second half is wonderful. Season 3 though is the best season of the franchise, and you need to watch it.

Yes, and another company buying it from nickelodeon so it can go wild on exploring the dark side of the characters and world. With all of the constraints it had, it is amazing what the creators were able to do. Nickelodeon did everything other than full on canceling the series yo try and shut it down, but the creators and viewers hit them with a big FU To keep it going.

I watched the Avatar series over the span November-December, and then read the comics to fill the story between Avatar and Korra. Just started Korra last week.

just finished Legend of Korra.

For as much stuff seemed to be going on behind the scenes on Legend of Korra with Nickelodeon, it is amazing the quality that the show had.

My only real complaint about the show was how the mechanized suits seemed out of place. They had a whole different animation style. And then having that 100+ft tall mech at the end made me kind of roll my eyes.

But I did like the villains. I loved Korra's arc. The original avatar's story was a great episode.

Overall, I think I liked Legend of Korra more than the Last Airbender, but that may be more because of the darkness of it.

So is there anything more OP than bloodbending?

Why can't earth/metal benders bend blood as well considering the amount of iron in red blood cells?

oh and, who knew Neil Degrasse Tyson was an earthbender?

(sad that cosmos has 10x the effects of the Last Airbender Movie)

Zaheer with his voidbending and flight would be just about as high.

Metalbenders don't really bend the metal itself, but the earth residue left behind in the metal. Only highly refined metal Earthbenders can't bend.

Yeah, I loved the The Last Airbender Series, watched its entirety with my son, and he loved it as well. In fact for one Halloween he went as "Zuko" and would have gone on another Halloween as "Aang" but I wouldn't let him shave his head.

(Haven't watched all of the episodes of "The Legend of Korra" so I'll refrain from the Aang/Korra debate, and focus on the film)

My son was very disappointed in the movie, as was I, but according to the director any negative criticism of the film is because "Americans don't get him", and his "European sensibility", obviously he couldn't say Americans didn't understand the story itself since the "The Last Airbender" series is so well liked.
With Shyamalan's inability and unwillingness to understand how a popular TV series with a loyal American following became this dud of a film under his direction it's not likely his proposed second "Airbender" film will be any better.

I don't want to subject myself with seeing the film again to list why its a bad film compared to the series it's supposed to be based on, but fortunately this does a fairly good job doing so,
in a humourous and accurate manner.

Warning the following video comparison, there is a lot of screaming and bad language:
