Moved from BR to Lafayette about 10 months ago. Quality of life is much better. This thread concerns one of the reasons.

My truck driver is stuck in that mess. Being forced to exit a Hwy 190 and take the old bridge. Sucks, he usually comes back on Hwy 90, but we had no deliveries in New Iberia today.

Happy Friday.

At least it wasn't the 18-wheeler's fault from the sounds of it.

I don't think it was. Sounds like the motorcycle may have been impatient?

That's hard to believe. Have never been down i-10E in Kennah, at this time of day, without Williams to Power being backed up.

Google/Waze supoorts my assumptions.

I beat the bubble. I bet it's backed up now.

Bro, why would I lie? I drive it every fricking day. I know when and when not to drive that route. Trust me. 30 min ago it was smooth sailing. I'm uptown now, so inreally don't give a frick.

it seems since 2001 I have always had traffic right there. Used to it was at 7:30am, then it was at 3:15pm.

Now I just said frick it and moved closer.

ETA: 3:15 am is pretty much always smokth sailing. Except when they had traffic last year for construction.

I'd hate to speculate, but I've seen these close calls before where the bike is weaving in and out of traffic - and you know that on a Friday afternoon that truck isn't going to fast in the center lane while the left and right lanes are moving faster.

There is not a soul in sight on the bridge going eastbound other than the police and the car carrier truck

yeah, I've been watching for the last hour. It actually looks better now! You should have seen the route Google suggested for me to take home earlier. I-10 to Carrollton exit, to Washington, snake around to Earhart, to Clearview to Transcontinental and beyond. Nuts.
