If a "more talented" team can't win with a 35 second shot clock, numerous other things besides talent are at play.

More often then not they do, but in an ugly ugly way. We are talking about improving the enjoyability of the CBB game.

have they added this to HS basketball yet?
New York has. I understand it but don't like it. The shot clock exists to keep a certain pace for spectator entertainment. Not exactly important when thinking of high school extracurricular activities.

I've always thought 35 was too long.
For the college game, 24 isn't long enough, I'd like to see a 30 second clock.

Am I the only person who has an issue with teams being allowed to call a timeout after every damn possession in the last minute? The worst part of college basketball is having to wait 30 minutes to see the last 1:30 of a game.

Limit teams to one timeout in the last minute. Sorry but all these timeouts are ridiculous.

I don't like that idea. I'd rather it be four timeouts per game instead of five than to limit when a team can use its timeouts.

I got this from the ncaa's men's basketball record book available here. The introduction of the 45-second clock in 1986 looks like it may have sped things up but going from 45 to 35 in '94 looks like it accomplished almost nothing. The game was much faster-paced with no clock in 1971 than it is now. If chopping 10 seconds off the clock didn't speed things up 20 years ago then there's no guarantee that shortening the clock would do much to help now.

It is a step in the right direction. I saw a CBS article that this year the pace is at its slowest level of the shot clock era.

dont think they should be able to tell you when to use timeouts, but there are absolutely way too many timeouts available.

maybe just move from 5 o 4, but im open to other options.
