As soon as people stop caring so much when other people get offended, alot of people will stop being so easily offended.

No one gives a frick what you eat. I wouldn't know if you or anyone else is gluten-free if you didn't talk about it. That's the issue. That's why people get pissed.

I don't go around telling people I'm pro-gluten.

this probably has nothing to with gluten, but more of your new diet

it just so happens that a lot of unhealthy foods have gluten in them

but good for you for feeling better

I hate when these people complain about restaurants. Restaurants make their recipes their way. If it doesn't agree with your lifestyle, don't eat there.

Completely agree with this. It's like the people who show up at a burger joint in January looking to eat a salad and complain about the choices.

Id be upset at the "gluten allergy" people rather than the people making the commercial.

I LOVE me some gluten. If I'm at a restaurant with some gluten free nazi, I'll order extra gluten with my meal just to piss them off.

Well, you kinda are. Anyone who doesn't have celiac disease yet decides to go "gluten-free" (while at the same time drinking gluten-containing yet hip micro-brews on the daily) is a little soft, weak.

FWIW, I don't think the ad was meant for people with celiac disease.

Most of the "gluten free" zealots don't have celiac disease.

My wife has some health issues. Nothing to the point of her not functioning, and she hasn't truly been diagnosed with it, but the symptoms are pretty much the list of what fibrymyalgia is. She has tried different medications to help, all non-narcotic stuff, and is now altering her diet as well. Her doc and she talked about it, and gluten and sugar reduction/elimination are two of the things she is trying. She's been pretty much gluten free since the start of the year. It isn't that hard to do. You just don't have bread, and have to watch what sauces you use. Several of them, like Soy Sauce, can have wheat in them. Since she has made this change and started exercising, the days where she has pain are much less, and farther apart. If she overexerts herself, she will struggle for a day or two after. But not like overexertion at the gym, more like if she is active all day, running errands, taking care of the kids, cleaning the house, and just generally not stopping to rest at any point for 12+ hours. I hate seeing her in pain to the point where she can't enjoy an evening with our kids.

But I still make fun of her for not eating gluten.

I truly, truly don't like the GF people. If someone really has Celiac disease, I have the utmost sympathy for them. It's not a fun disease, and GF food is pretty gross. But, 90% of people on that bandwagon are self-diagnosed, and they're really demeaning the people who have to live with Celiac. My ex boss was one of the idiots. She had a patch of eczema on her arm about the size of a quarter and decided it was from a "gluten intolerance" and went on the diet. So dumb. I guess if something good comes out of this stupid craze is that there are more food options for the people who really need it.

Yeah, if anything it has made my wife want to cook more good food than before. We had chicken fried rice last night. We cook meat and veggies several nights a week. Eat big breakfast every saturday. Bacon and eggs.

I'll agree that MOST gluten free bread type foods are gross. She got some coconut flour to cook with. Made some banana bread with it. It wasn't bad necessarily, but it wasn't the same.

Gluten Intolerance people need a kick in the nads. People that actually have celiac are fine.

Gluten free pussies =/= people with celiacs. So if I had celiacs, I'd be offended by a commercial making light of a serious condition.

I'd also be offended by the idiots who don't have it, but think gluten free is healthy for you and almost glamorize it
