In Taiwan, squid fishing is really popular. It's a common "tradition" that the first squid you catch, you immediately eat.
Similar to this guy.
When I caught my first one, my guide told me I had to take a bite while it was still on the hook.
I did, he laughed.
TL;DR, I caught a squid and a Taiwan fishing guide tricked me into take a bite while it was alive and still on the hook. I lived. He laughed.
