What people don't realize is this guy isnt just some CFL guy who came from a small college and is trying to make the next step. He was a highly touted Highschool player who was set to play at DBU and then got hurt. As soon as he was able to get back he has been shutting people down every step of the way. And by talking to him, Sean Payton and Rob Ryan thinks he has a really good shot to contribute.

No, especially not for a guy with so many teams looking at him. And for us to give him that means we feel he has a pretty good shot to make the roster.
He also got a pretty big signing bonus out of our UDFA signing bonus pool($12,000; last year the total pool was $75,000 and that is shared amongst all of our UDFAs). So we gave him good incentive to choose us.

I don't know if he is a "camp body," but I do think he is a long shot to make the team. And he is a guy who has been overcoming the odds since his injury in high school, so I'm pulling for him.

I think, at worst, he gets practice squad money. He has the talent to be a very good NFL corner, but he probably hasn't developed the necessary skills yet
I talked to my old roommates who played defense at lsu though, and they said he participated in the non contact drills and the practices held by the players.

I get that the guy is a bit of an unknown, but the CB competition on this team isn't the greatest at the moment. Sure we will most likely sign another CB in FA and/or draft one, but if he has to beat out one of Brian Dixon, Corey White, Travis Fredrick, or even SJB, I'll put my money on him making the team.
