yes, just to varying degrees.

The only reality show I actively watch is Big Brother, but even that has some production influence. It's not "staged" in that they'll tell someone to go fight someone else or something like that, but there's been evidence through the years of production helping certain players advance in the game, or urging people to say certain things in the diary room.

With shite shows like all the ones about towing or pawning and that other crap, I'm sure those are like 90% scripted.

Some are, some aren't.

I think the only one that really doesn't have much production interference is Survivor. Of the ones I watch at least.

Real or fake reality TV is garbage (gsme shows not included). networks love it. Minimal script minimal production value tons of mouth breathing goons to watch.
The worst part is watching the discovery and history channel whore themselves out to reality tv

I have no idea what that is and will respectfully remain that way.

Even hard knocks is rigged.

Brodie Croyle said when he was with the Chiefs they had him stage his going away for training camp with his wife like a month before.

I don't think they are fixed as much as the producers stack the odds in order to get the contestants they want. Athletic and academic competitions are setup to favor the contestants they want to advance.

Frank from Big Brother 14 is a perfect example of this.

The first season of Survivor was some of the best television ever and was not set up at all. I felt the rest was. I haven't really been able to watch anything since.

I think the issue with Survivor is the editing. You can tell they really arrange things a certain way to build suspense, especially the scene between the immunity challenge and tribal council as well as during the challenges themselves.

I always think back to one of my favorite movies "Quiz Show". All of television is fake. It's entertainment. And there is too much money to leave the results in doubt.
It has always been that way, and probably always will.

I've met someone that was on Survivor and she said her season was absolutely not rigged, though it sometimes appears that way with the editing. She did think they stacked the odds for Boston Rob the season he won though.

She did say Jeff was masterful at planting seeds in your head at tribal council. She said everytime she went to tribal council she thought she had the game figured out, then Jeff would ask a certain question a certain way and it would make her rethink everything.

I definatly think they all have tons of Production influence for better TV. Big Brother is one of my favorites but you can see the production influence every episode and I hate it.

COPS IS THE ONLY REALITY TV SHOW THAT IS REALITY.

The rest are borderline acted scrips with regular joes.

Ironically, it appears that all the shows on Tru TV appear to be fake.

You would think that with a channel name like that, the shows would be true.

I follow a Vegas board and a discussion arose about Bar Rescue. One of the posters lived in North Carolina and was a regular at the bar "rescued". She was good friends with the owner. The owner was short on cash and needed a bar makeover. His bar was chosen for the show after a long process. The whole thing was staged including conflicts, deliberately roughed up furniture, and family "make-up" sessions. At least the owner did get his renovation.

Don't get me started on "Flipping Vegas".

I hate when my wife watches crap like that on HGTV and puts ideas in her head. The "cost" of the stuff they do is about 1/3 of what it would really cost to do some of those projects. You never see them add in the cost of the tools you have to buy for a project and rarely do they mention the cost of labor for work that a DIY'er could not do themselves.
