I read about this today.

I like the atmosphere of Walk-Ons but the food is just ok. Not great, not awesome.

That being said, it's way better than anything else in Lake Charles. Like you said, the only thing close to it is BWW.

There's nothing else near the location other than a Wendy's.

I'm curious to see if they keep the old Yesterdays building and use that decent sized building for it.

That building is larger than the Walk-ons in BR.

I am not surprised you are excited. You will learn quickly this place sucks. But I guess it is an improvement to LP.

I went to LSU, been to Walkons tons of times. The food isn't that good but seeing that Hooters and Big mikes are the only close option to go hang out, drink, and watch a game, I consider this an upgrade

So I guess now that the Wall Mart Deli will drop from 4th to 5th in the Top 10 list of places to eat in Lake Charles?

I agree, I have been scratching my head on their choice of location. It'll have business early on just because it's new and the name but once it wears off people will forget it's out there or not feel like driving all the way over there just for it.

Yeah, I have to question the location choice. It just doesn't seem like a great place for a restaurant. I get that they want to be close to campus, but I can't see people wanting to go out there for food.

It's on the opposite side of town from it's only competition(BWW) and the town of LC is moving East if you haven't noticed.

The majority of people in LC don't want to drive through that shitfest of an intersection on Nelson.

They'll have plenty of business.

It's not like it's close to walking distance from McNeese. There had to be better choices. Plus, once you pass the baseball field everything on that road looks shitty. At least it did last time I was there.

Hopefully service is better at that one than the one in Towne Center. Service may be the worst I've ever seen at that one.

Walk Ons has been looking to expand to Lake Charles for over two years. The initial location was going to be right by Sams or on the south side of 210 but they land price was too much. The other location being looked at was as close the McNeese as possible. Back then, they weren't sold on the McNeese area so I'm curious what changed their mind.

Why would the franchisor lose out?

it's the franchisees that take the risk right?
Correct. Brandon will make money for sure on it. The franchisees may not though

Went to play Golden Tee at Happy's on Coursey yesterday after work. That place is shut down, must of happened overnight because I drove by it Wednesday and it was open.

The old Yesterday's is considered east of LC?

It is certainly on the east half of LC, even though I didn't say that.

Also, Even if they put it in walking distance of McNeese it wouldn't have increased their business that much. People in LC drive to the places they want to go.
