Just something else to occupy NOPD's time ... you know, in case they weren't busy enough with the shootings and armed robberies.

Unless you're making a virgin goat head stew. My pot isn't big enough to fit a whole kid.

The old firm I worked for was responsible for getting those goats out there. Our biggest fear was neighborhood people killing the goats for food or fun. Looks like that happened. Ha, whoops.

If the title is a clue, my guess is that Wooderson did it.

10. Then came the Holy One, blest be He!
And destroyed the angel of death
That slew the butcher
That killed the ox
That drank the water
That quenched the fire
That burned the stick
That beat the dog
That bit the cat
That ate the kid
My father bought
For two zuzim.
An only kid! An only kid!

Y'Herd Me are good people. Before they came along, there wasn't really the option to use goats in Brechtel Park. We had looked at hiring some local farmers, but none of them really showed that much interest, which is understandable.

Goats are an excellent way to remove invasive species. After Katrina, Cat's Claw took over the park. The park was essentially a 100 hundred acre carpet of cat's claw and algae. Cat's Claw is incredibly hard and time consuming stuff to eradicate. The goats do all the heavy lifting for us. Sure they eat other stuff besides cat's claw, but they're not going to eat the canopy trees, and the understory is easy to build back. Before the goats we had explored a scorched earth solution to start from scratch. The goats provided a great alternative.
