It was straight up Jerry Springer sports talk radio.
It's actually pretty entertaining. Just don't expect to get any insight out of it.

I think getting Steele makes it hard for Saban to recruit against us by using the "new D coordinator" angle. How can he downplay the hire if it's someone he himself has hired in the recent past?

However, I can also say that same D was out coached in the National Championship by BAMA.
what?
Our offense didn't cross the 50yard line til late in the game. And we gave up 1 TD vs Bama is 2 games that year. And that happened late in the natl championship. Bama had the ball in prime real estate all game long and our D played them tough and held them to FGs for almost 2 full games.
It's absurd to say that our D was out coached or outplayed by Bama.
And in regards to the whole Steele vs Chavis deal and shite... Chavis is the better DC than Steele. Period. But, when you add in Ed O, it becomes a lot closer.

His show is a Bama pep rally and a Saban worship service all disguised as a radio show.

Nothing wrong with the defense in that game. Our problem was we had NO GAME PLAN FOR THE OFFENSE. Absolutely none. It's like we went on to the field that night without having given 1 single second of thought at to how we were going to do a better job of moving the ball against Bama than we did the previous November.

I think you don't understand football. Our defense outperformed Bama's offense that night. They held Bama to 15 points with 5 minutes left to play even though our offense went 3 and out almost every series. Also, at least once the 3 points was not surrendered by the defense, so it was more like 12 - an amazing accomplishment.

I like Chief, but third and Chavis is real. In fact, and correct me if I'm wrong, it seems that his defense doesn't do nearly as well when it is paired with a good offense. The ND game may have had as much to do with the fact that LSU scored quickly as it did with Chief's lack of coaching in that game. When LSU had a great offense, the defense took a step back. Again, they were young, there were other issues, but it just seems that his defenses rely on TOP by the offense. I think he is going to have issues at A&M.

You think he has LSU's interest in mind? Probably trying to impact recruiting in favor of you know which school.

All PF can do is talk shite hes a professional shite talker and is way off most times. Truth is it was time for Chavis to go and now we will be reeling in 5* talent in our front seven and once BH takes the QB position over and blows away the competition all these guys will hate LSU even more. QB away from everyone having to STF up and just STTDB!!!!

I agree! We were all talking at the bowl game about the same thing. We were nervous that we scored too fast and our defense wouldn't hold on...and we were correct.
But I will take a quick score, a long drive, a pick 6, etc., -- 7 points is 7 points and we can always use as many points as we can get. My problem is with Chavez's focus that day.

Finebaum hates LSU, and that's why Les gives him hell every time he is in BR...

If FINALLY getting some pressure on the QB means "short end of the stick" I'll take that 8 days a week.

Another "I hate Finebaum but listen/watch his show every day" thread

I like Finebaum, but hes a Bama homer. Steele came from Bama so I'm suspect of Finebaum's objectivity on the issue. Is Steele as good as Chavis? I don't know yet.
He can't be any fricking worse on 3rd adn long or running a 2 minute defense against your biggest conference rival when the game is on the line.

How in the hell is this guy on radio more so on the SECN is beyond me!!

I liked the Chief. He had some very defenses while coaching at LSU. He was great coaching against spread offenses. But he had problem closing games against teams with a half way decent quarterback. Today's game depends on players as much as coaching. Time will tell if our coaching hurts our defense as bad as it does our offense. As long as Les keeps his hands off the defense, the coaches have a chance to succeed,

I fired Finebaum many years ago.
