Well obviously. Your reasoning is flawless.

As a lifelong Astros fan I'm used to waiting on next year

Thats funny considering this is a Cubs thread and the Astros had a 20 year run of contending and have been out of if for what? 7 whole years.

Not that I'm not happy with Correa, but frick, the Astros were in position to have the #1 and #2 prospects in baseball.

They're called prospects for a reason. Remember Brett Jackson, Junior Lake, Josh Vitters, etc. The Cubs will still be the Cubs. Bank on it.

Those were different level prospects than the top level current prospects. You will be eating crow when the Cubs are competing for division titles with these prospects.

Maybe. Doesn't change the fact that the Cubs will forever suck.

Is it smart to reference history as indicative of future performance as an msu fan?

I was referring to the recent 7 year stretch, so I had gotten used to waiting on next year.

I still remember winning the division year after year, the Big Unit in The Dome for the most dominant half season I've seen, and being in the field boxes for the Chris Burke 18th inning shot.

So don't worry, I remember the good days very well
