Back in the day I put this on every single morning while making coffee. I miss it.

Hell yeah, I used to put it on sat and sun mornings while i ate breakfast and surfed the interwebs. Thought about this show the other day. Wish it was still on.

Loved Sunrise Earth. I miss it too. I still go on YouTube and find 1 or 2 to have on in the background for my AppleTV.

Wish they were on Netflix. There are a few on iTunes but it's only a fraction of them .

Name sounds familiar. What kind of show was it?

I used to watch SBTB every morning while ironing, now I mainly watch How It's Made.

That one is actually on iTunes.

The same people who did Sunrise Earth did a similar show called Christmas Lights. It was basically a camera looking over Rockafeller Center during Christmas and the second part was some snow covered cabin in Alaska. Sounds lame and simple but we had it saved to our DVR and played it every Christmas morning. Can't find a copy or video of it anywhere.

It was basically a camera fixated on a nature scene (river, beach, mountains, etc.). It was an hour long and it was just a uninterrupted view of the sun rising over that particular scene. No music, no talking, and no commercials. It was on Discovery HD Theater several years ago when there were just a handfull of HD options and HD was just catching on.

Here is one of the episodes:

Hell fricking yes. I used to watch SE all the time after I got my big screen HDTV.

I used to love laying on my couch and putting it on with surround sound. It was amazingly gorgeous.

Man, Discovery HD Theater (IIRC, that was where I watched it) used to be such an awesome channel.

Hell yeah it was. It was as if someone said "People have these big new TVs with awesome HD. Let's give them cool stuff to watch."

Exactly.

I wonder why it didn't stick around? There was plenty enough cool shite on that channel to seem like it could generate viewers, but I seem to remember them canceling it one day (and perhaps even starting a different Discovery HD channel??).

DHDT was the shite.
