a great X's and O's coach wouldn't be 15-76 in conference play since the 2009-2010 season.

Thank You. A great XO guy can beat just about anybody on a given night. A talented basketball team will beat most teams on a given night, unless they get out coached/out schemed. Think "white boy ball" vs "street ball"
The problem is when you have a good XO coach who can still open the cage and let the gorillas out.

I think JJ is doing well with our program. Will he take us to the next level? Only time will tell, but I think we are heading in the right direction.

Hypothetically, if we retain M&M next year (Which is very unlikely), would it be NCAA Champions or bust next year? Serious question. I'd be happy with final four (since we have not been there in 10 years).

Football's success has spoiled me. I am having more fun with this basketball team being unranked than with our football team this year.

oh, you'd settle for the final 4? considering LSU has been once in damn near 30 years....

Trent is 36-49 at TCU while being 3-40 against Big 12 teams including 14-6 this year, 1-6 in the Big 12.

3-40 against Big 12 including 14 wins this season? hmm....

Big 12 is better than SEC right now
Trent was a pretty good fundamental coach but you need players and he did not deliver there
I do not like Trent's offensive style, I think it's too restrictive
Trent hired some really bad assistants

Overall I like the Johnny hire better

Trent is still a trainwreck against conference teams, Johnny...seems to be improving, greatly.

JJ as way more talent. That's what makes great coaching more than anything.

Still, johnny is leaps and bounds better for us. X's and O's give me trent.

You clearly don't know anything about Trent Johnson then. All in game coaching was done by Donny Guerinoni. Now that he's gone, I have no idea who is actually coaching the TCU squad.

He coaches a BORING team.

This combined with his unwillingness to fill up the roster and the schedule are what turned most LSU basketball fans off. And what's made it so hard to get the casual fans back.

Doesn't appear to be coaching this season. His linked-in says Boston area.

JJ is not a great in-game coach. That's not even up for debate.

But his time here proved to me that TJ wasn't any better. He was way oversold as such when he came here.

I liken TJ to Curley Hallman in this respect: he had those Lopez twins at Stanford that made him look like a better coach than he really was, much in the same way Curley had Brett Favre at USM.
