Then drive off?
I picked up a coffee this morning, I had my hands full with other stuff for a couple friends of mine. I set all of it on top my car so I can open my door. I put everything inside my car and accidentally left my drink on top. As soon as I backed out, the people on the sidewalk were staring at me. I was wondering why until I looked out my other window I noticed coffee had spilt all down the window

Left my son's ice cream on top of my wife's jeep last weekend and took off. It went all down the back of her tailgate and I had to wash that shite off.

Took my dad's jeep for a quick ride. Didn't realize he had taken the tail light apart and put it on the rag top.

Drove off and that thing shattered all over the highway but salvaged some parts.

He was pissed of course

I left my girlfriend's dog, who happened to be in a full body cast after falling out a window, on top of the car. He made it all the way to our destination and I was able to grab him before she ever knew it happened.

Really freaked me out.

Sort of related, but I left my wife's aunt's dog leashed to my bumper once. He tried to keep up a along as he could.

Once went for a jog. Finished and put my iPod on the top of my tailgate. Decided to shoot some hoops to cool down before I went in. Forgot all about the iPod.

I checked the mail once and put it on my car. Went in the house for a minute and then left to go to the store. One of the envelopes had a replacement credit card in it. Luckily my neighbor found it in the street. It probably needed to be activated anyway but I was glad to get it back.

Not on top, but I left the boat keys on the back bumper before a fishing trip one morning, after unlocking the hitch lock.

Got all the way from Slidell to the "Green Bridge" going into Chalmette (on the way to Delacroix) when I looked down in the cup holder and didn't see the boat keys and suddenly realized where I left them... Pulled over to the shoulder and got out. No keys on the bumper, in the truck bed, in the boat... No where. I was so pissed.

Suddenly, father-in-law bends down and is peeking into the crevice between the bottom of the tailgate and top of the bumper, reaches his hand into the crevice and says "is this them?" and pulls them out.

The key had slid forward on the bumper during the trip and had the foam float key chain that most boaters have in their boat key not wedged itself between the bumper and body panel under the tailgate, the keys would likely still be somewhere on I-10 between Slidell and Chalmette.

I threw something illegal out of my sunroof before getting pulled over once... and it ended up in the stabilizer thing on the trunk of my car.

Sat there looking at it in my rearview while the cop wrote me a speeding ticket. Way funnier now than at that time.

ETA:

spoiler is the word I was looking for.
