SLI 970 is faster than single 980. If playing at 1440P and beyond, certain games will not scale like you would expect because there will be a memory capacity bottleneck (SLI doesn't double memory) for certain settings, so for example if you encounter a game that can't do 60fps with "Ultra" textures, don't expect a second card to reliably remedy that, especially at high resolutions. Other than that, SLI 970 is a powerhouse solution.

Better than that is SLI 980s


Solid build if you weren't on a strict budget though. You won't get much use out of the hyperthreading in the i7. As for the RAM, depends on your habits. As I type this, I'm sitting at about 7,900 MB of physical memory usage, with 9619 in the pagefile. That's with my usual daily programs running right now, but no games. I usually launch a game without closing anything else, so it's not unheard of for me to hit 12gb physical during the day, but I have to be really lazy about my browser windows for that to happen.

ETA Except my case was the 750D and I went with the H110 cooler

I own both the ps4 and the xbox one and they both have their bad sides.
