Most of them are weirdos with a severely skewed sense of reality and once they get together and form a community based on those ideals, well, you see what happens. To be fair, the same thing happens in Washington DC but the difference is that those whackos influence the ones who have power over me.

Jon Hamm echoed that on Bill Simmons's podcast a few months ago -- he didn't land the role of Don Draper until he was 35, and he's as normal as they come.
Best answer so far.

it attracts very insecure , shallow snobby people in the first place who want to be rich and famous for doing nothing. then they're form an eltist culture and are treated like gods by little girls( bieber)

In part it is the type of people it attracts. People who seek fame and public approval as if it is a tangible thing that they can possess are bound to be unhappy because they seek an unattainable.
Also, most people are pretty damn "weird." You just don't see it because people aren't following most people around with a camara.

I know it is the music business, but if you are a young Britney Spears or a Michael Jackson and you reach "stardom" at a young age, it must affect your mind when you can have anything you want in unlimited quantities. You are on magazine covers and on Letterman or Leno. It would be easy to lose reality on who you are as far as society goes. You are a star. You can have men at your call. You can fly anywhere in the world at any time. There is an absence of boundaries because there are very little limits. Your self esteem in entangled with the media and your fans.
Personally, I am not really sure how Britney has made a living being a true musician. But she is very nice looking and has drawn attention from young girls and fans who want to be her. A persona created by looks and very little else. Anyone can be propped up by the media. Money can do a lot of things to a person. So can finding a way to fit in by joining occult churches.

Re Bruce Jenner, I'm not sure it's Hollywood that did that to him.
Re Tom Cruise on the couch, you should read this:

Re Tom Cruise on the couch, you should read this:

You've seen it, too. You can probably picture it in your head: Tom Cruise, dressed in head-to-toe black, looming over a cowering Oprah as he jumps up and down on the buttermilk-colored couch like a toddler throwing a tantrum. Cruise bouncing on that couch is one of the touchstones of the last decade, the punchline every time someone writes about his career.
There's just one catch: It never happened.

It did happen.
I don't think cruise is a bad person at all, quite the opposite. But he's bat shite
I like him more than the belligerent Sean penn. I'll watch his movies despite how fricking evil I think Scientology is
He got some shite for that water squirting thing, but i think it showed him to be a pretty good guy
But again, yes he did, and he is a loon

The main reason is a lot of their success is based on their looks and when looks go downhill they will do crazy things to try to get them back. Also, their egos are insanely bloated and unchecked.

how can people say it didn't happen when there is video of it happening?
all he does is say the circumstances warranted him going crazy. it still fricking happened.

Because they learn real quick how anything they do will be lapped up by their followers and taken As gospel. Add that with a false sense of reality because they are usually immune to the real world problems and you get their sense of entitlement. Do any of you remember years ago the Pepsi commercial with puff daddy, p diddy, diddy, fiddy, puff or what ever the frick he was calling himself during that time? The one where his limo broke down and he hitched a ride on a Pepsi truck. Next thing you know everyone was driving around in Pepsi trucks because he did it? It was meant to be funny but it was truly sad as that's what this world has come to. Add the rainbows and unicorns to the mix, BAM!! fricked up Hollywood people who the general public mimic and adore the dumbest fricking things possible because Kim K does it

Bruce Jenner was once the 'world's greatest athlete', aka Olympic decathlon champion. Later, he raced in the Trans-Am series.
Now he's a woman. How the frick does a person make that leap???

Young and rich with no job or responsibility leads to uneducated activism.

This.
But I think being a whacko is required in Hollywood to succeed and stay relevant. People who try to act like normal people are considered batshit crazy there.
