Looking for some places closer to the house anybody have any luck anywhere along this river? Was going to go try lake Martin or black lake tomorrow. Have never fished these areas, just been boat riding. Also here sometimes people can get in a little spot called redmon lake up from Fred's.

I think the water has been up, may be pretty muddy after all the rain. Someone used to put Christmas trees in Redmond lake, caught a lot of Sac-a-lait. Diversion can be good in the middle of the week for bass. Lake Martin would probably be where I would start if the water is muddy.

Can it be a challenge getting back to lake Martin this time of the year?

River is muddy right now. Black Lake might not big a bad option. I may go to bayou Barbary friday

Depends on the water level more than anything. I haven't fished it in forever, but I think you should be able to get back there pretty easily if the water is up. Just google map it and you'll be able to see where you need to try and get in. I'm sure there are some people who can tell you better. They do catch some fish back there though. One of my dads coworkers hits lake martin a lot, does pretty well at times.

Water is starting to clear up on the Diversion, Not perfect, but better than a couple of days ago...

The further you go down the Amite the shittier it gets. Bayou Manchac drains all of Baton Rouge's water to it once you get there good luck.
No, that body of water you mentioned is always in accessible unless you have a key to the launch.

Do you ever fish the diversion? Any luck or tips, never have heard of anyone fishing this area.

Fish kills have been bad, Katrina then three years later, Gustov, then Isaac a couple of years ago. There are catfish, there are gar (see my photo) bass are few and far between, but there is a fishing tournament from Canal bank near the house every Wednesday night, should be starting up soon.

I'm just kidding kinda, but damn.
No fish there anyway. Freeze killed them all last year.

Black lake looks good a lot of times when everything else looks like chocolate milk.

Every time I go in there I get shot at by meth heads, hit a sunken car with my prop, have snakes jump into my boat, and get shite stolen from my truck at the launch. I wouldn't advise anyone fishing there.
