This needs to be altered but it kinda goes back to the discussion in the other thread about bumping up the carbs/fat to give you more total calories in a 24 period overall.

My current favorite

I only take it on weekend workouts though. During the week I train after work and find that these pre-workouts can mess with my sleep.

Consume your carbs pre- and/or post-workout. Stick to fruits and simple sugars for these. Contrary to popular belief, eating carbs is not bad for you. Have a carb heavy snack or early lunch, but make sure to walk around enough. Stay away from eating a bunch of carbs at night. For people trying to lean up, I think the recommended ratios are something like 40% carbs, 40% proteins, and 20% fats. Could be a little off on that.

I take ON's Platinum Pre with ON's creatine monohydrate
ON's Gold Standard Whey
About to start my MetRx meal replacements.
Occasional Casein shakes at night, depending on my hunger pains
Multi-vitamin, fish oil, and BCAAs.
And a daily Zyrtec.

Add more fat into your diet. 1 gram of fat has 4x the amount of cals as 1 gram of protein. It's important to remember: fat does not make you fat. Excess carbs being stored makes you gain bodyfat (and not necessarily mass which is why the scale is a bad way to look at progress).

You can add a tbsp of butter to scambled eggs in the morning along with a piece of smoked sausage and some avocado and veggies. Perhaps make an omelet or something. (I remember you said "boiled egg whites" so thats make me think you boiled them and took them with you out of convenience? If so an omelet may not be attainable if you have time restrictions early in the morning). One thing you can also do is get a typical muffin pan and put mixed veggies, one egg, meat (bacon or sausage or ground meat) and a few drops of oil in each individual cavity and bake in oven. Then you'll have 12 little "egg shaped muffins" that can be thrown in microwave on your way out the door for work and you wont have to make bkfst all wk.

Also- supplement more olive oil into your diet. Fry your turkey cutlets (or ground?) in it instead of nonstick spray. Olive oil is your friend. It can also be added to a shake (if youre making your own) and wont alter the flavor at all.

Legumes of any kind- lentils, black beans (amazingly healthy), kidneys, blackeyes, pinto, almonds, seeds, cashews, peanuts, macadamia, pecans, etc.

Fatty fish - Salmon steaks are fantastic for adding omega fats. The oil in fish is great for you.

By just tweaking a few small things like adding butter/oil to your meals when prepping and adding in an extra snack or two a day focuse around fat/carb can get you at an appropriate caloric intake level, which you have a ton of wiggle room at right now since you are at such a deprivation.

One of my favorite snacks - Plain greek yogurt/mixed nuts/tsp honey.

No, they arent bad. They are essential. Too much is bad and alot of people dont know where that line is.

technically that's carb loading. Carb cycling is having different carb amounts each day or mostly low carb days with the occasional high carb day.

An example:
mon 100 grams of carbs
tues 100 grams of carbs
wed 100 grams of carbs
thurs 150 grams of carbs
friday 200 grams of carbs
repeat the cycle
you could also do some like 150, 100, 50, 100, 150, repeat or you can extend it to a full 7 day cycle. Some people will keep carbs low all week and have a super high carb day on sunday.

I have a friend who took a sample of this once and said he almost checked himself into the ER

I'm right there with him. I became really worried when my heart was racing for more than an hour after my workout.

I enjoy my only eating meals between a 6-8 hour window each day.

Also not eating my first meal until post workout helps too.

So you train fasted? Ive heard this gives you insane energy and focus during workouts but am pretty limited on attempting since I workout in the afternoons.

Partly. I take 10g protein but no carbs. Also take a no carb pre workout drink.

My reasoning is so that I'm burning fat during my lift, but the 10g protein keeps me from burning muscle since I'm lifting or sprinting while fasting.

Yup, exactly. Are you taking in any BCAA's in that pre workout drink? How is your stamina, energy?

Hugh Jackman made this type of routine famous for his recent Wolverine role (and intermittent fasting in general) Very interesting read if youre interested.

I like reading leangains.com, a blog by Martin Berkhan.
