Had a 19' Bass Cat with a 200 Optimax that I carried insurance on, but my 16 ft flat with a 55 on it I don't....
High dollar boats I understand, but flat boats, is it a must...?

24' boat with a 150hp costs me $76 a year
14' flat with a 40hp cost me $56 a year
500 Honda 4 wheeler cost me $24 a year
14' flat hit a floater in the lake 3 years ago and only had one bolt holding the lower unit on. Filed a claim....paid in full minus my deductible. Insurance went up from $49 a year to $56 a year. I can handle that.
24' Boat....hit a stump about 7 years ago...knocked a huge hole in it... barely made it back to camp and on trailer. Filed a claim....paid in full minus my deductible. Insurance never went up.

How much is your insurance cost for all the banded ducks mounted?
Posted on 1/28/15 at 10:49 am to Hangover Haven
Comprehensive...all up to you
Liability... way to cheap to even think twice about

i encourage all to look at their liability limits given to them on policy, it'd probably cost you like stupid cheap money to double or triple limits for year if you have low limits on there.

18' Champion 150 hp: $36/mo from Progressive
Replaced lower unit fully 5 yrs ago.
Not a requirement unless financed at the bank. My boat is 14 yrs old, and I will have the insurance as long as I have the boat.

Did you hit something or did it just break?
Posted on 1/28/15 at 10:53 am to Hangover Haven
I do. 100k liability coverage is usually mandatory to fish the bigger tournaments.

Officially "hit" an underwater obstruction that caused all fluid to go out and lock up. When they looked at how banged up it (already) was, no questions asked. $2200

Chad504boy....I had Statefarm until Rita hit. Had everything with them.... tress fell in yard hit sheds...had roofs fly off shed and carport. Filed claim and nothing for three months...finally got a adjuster....I had already documented it with pics and video with measurments everywhere on everything and just fixed it myself keeping receipts and wait on reimbursement as I was told on the phone numerous times....Over 12K out of my pocket.....She denied most of my claim and I got a check for $900... I dropped there arse like a used rubber and they have begged me back for years....never again. I have built two homes and a camp since then and everytime they try I bring up what they did to me.

State Farm will frick you like that 800# gorilla with a chainsaw dick. They dropped my boat insurance 12 yrs ago for a claim. I'm about to drop my homeowners with them to save $180/month - they just don't know it yet.
