Well that's more than most people in this thread have offered up.

Why is this so funny? Since you're a cop, you throw out some suggestions. It's funny that I get attacked both ways by people not offering anything constructive up. Let's just watch New Orleans get destroyed from within and crack open a beer and party.

You haven't offered anything worth a shite.

Yat, I've worked in the low income areas of New Orleans and Baton Rouge and the vast majority of those people are honest hard working people that simply don't make enough money to leave. They are also looking for a leader, but like the Sharpton leeches of world. Someone needs to light a fire in those communities.

Oh mother fricker. Don't tell me shite about what you've worked with. I lived in it growing up. I did in-home, state ordered mental health evaluations in the city for 10 years. The majority of these people want as much as possible for as little as possible. Don't even try this "they're just looking for a leader" shite. You shouldn't need a fricking "leader" to tell you to stop shooting people. It's such a generational frick up that it will never be fixed.

I agree, if we smoke them out then we can take our city back.

I've often wondered what this country would be like if, right after the Civil War, we would have immediately paid reparations of sorts by moving slaves and descendants of slaves, evenly distributing them around the country instead of putting them in ghettos, and then gave them land and taught them all trades, etc etc. Spent the money then and had them placed all over the country.

Maybe that's racist, but I don't think we would be dealing with what we are dealing with now if that had been the case.

I'll tell you whatever the frick I want because we've chewed the same ground, a-hole. And my experience had been the opposite of yours, but I'm wrong and you're right, right?

FWIW, I don't believe you that you've worked in bad areas of New Orleans. Anyone with any type of experience there will disagree with you

I don't know how long ago you did it then because I just stopped doing that shite last year. The state stopped paying for the details and I refused to go to some of these places without an armed guard. This new generation of frick ups have become professionals at manipulating the systems set up to truly try and help people.

The victim told police he met an unknown subject who brought him to the area after telling the victim that he knew of a place where they could get a drink. The victim told police that he went to an ATM and withdrew $200. When they reached the location on New Orleans Street, the victim told police he encountered an unknown male who asked him for money. When the victim refused, he told police that the suspect shot him and took his money. The suspect then fled on foot.

Wait...and this guy is an actual police officer in Ireland?

What's next...he gonna get taken by an African Prince who needs him to wire money to his account and if he does he'll get a 50X return on investment?

For shite's sake I was just in town this past weekend for the R&R Marathon and there are places in near the Quarter I will look down the street and think, "Nah...I'm good" and not walk down. During the DAY. That's basic mammal instincts.

What kind of cop can't assess a situation better than this? This whole story sounds fishy at best.

I'm the polar opposite of both of those and definitely don't associate myself with either. And you can believe it or not, I've been there. Go talk to some of the older people in that area, not the young idiots with their asses hanging out of their pants. They don't know what to do.

I agree with you. I'm taking about the older folks living in those communities. They've lost control.

The change in those communities will have to come from within. But that won't happen. They aren't going to listen to a bunch of white honkies. They arent going to listen to a bunch of Uncle Toms. The few who did grow up there and could make difference, won't, because they leave and are smart enough to know its a lost cause.

This sadly might be the smartest thing posted in this thread. And honestly because of the young fools advising the system, I don't blame them.

The elderly population in these high crime areas is very, very low. It's mostly people between 20 and 50 and they're all angry, bitter or whatever you want to call it. None of them think it's their fault they're in the position they're in. Education isn't pushed. Family values aren't pushed because there just aren't many families. There's a shite load of households with mom, grandma, auntie and 6 kids where everyday is a complete cluster frick.

Yes it certainly flies in the face of everything else you've been spewing here.
