Just added all this up for you. (assuming you drink water all day and arent getting calories from beverages)

863- calories
28g- carbs
21g- fat
138g- protein

That is not healthy man. Not even close. You should be eating at least double this, maybe even 2.5x that much food as an active male. It's great that you are taking initiative and are enthused about lifting and getting fit but you need to seriously bump those calories and that fat/carb intake up. Im surprised you dont feel horrible.

i forgot to add i eat a cup of broccoli and carrots at lunch and dinner also.
also eat another quest bar after dinner or either a tablespoon of peanutbutter and a few almonds. i normally have 1200-1400 calories

That's better but still not really close to where your caloric intake should be. We've had this conversation already though . If you feel good then roll with it I suppose.

What dnm said.

You'll lose weight like this, yes, but not in a healthy way. You need alot more calories. Slower and steady weight loss is healthier, easier, more sustainable, and makes you look better. I don't know what you weigh but if you exercise regularly, you probably need at least 1800-2000 calories.

5'6" currently 158lbs... was 145-150 last summer. Im consuming 1200-1400 calories a day now. i sit at a dam desk 9hrs of the day and only get 45mins of gym time during my lunch break to do weights. have not done any cardio. I have an hr commute both ways to work so im limited to what i can do in the evening

i have felt fine all month. But also i appreaciate your input. Thats y i post in these threads. I have just added the pb and almonds. But i plan to add in some baked fish next week. I need all the help i can get. I have been logging everything i eat in my fitness pal and i always fall into 1200-1400 calories each day. yes all i drink is water, but like i said im not "active" right now other than 45mins of lifting weights. I will definitely add some calories once i start cardio and playing tennis in next couple months.

Damn you are small. I'm 5'5" and weigh 180. I'm trying to get into the 160s. Woking on cleaning up my diet and getting more cardio in. I have a lot of pain in my feet so that keeps me from running. I'm going to see a podiatrist soon.

I was 5'8 206 so I know your pain

Diet is 80 percent of the battle. Focus on that instead of trying to kill yourself on cardio on bad feet.

That's the key to being lean. If the running physically tough for you to do then dont do it. I dont do any cardio at all. Just lift if you are physically capable of doing it. You can burn same amount of calories in half the time.

what would be the best place to find a good workout routine on the Internet.
I'm 49 and in pretty good shape I don't drink or smoke I just need to get off a few pounds (210 @ 6FT) .
I started AdvoCare and dropped eight pounds right off the bat but now I've just kind of sat at the current weight.

Here is a routine my buddy who works out did for me. And i follow it weakly. I told him i only have 45mins a day to work out and just want to lean up not trying to body build. Maybe this will help you are anyone else. I go by it and enjoy it.

Legs: MONDAY
leg press or squat 4x10-15
Lunges 3x10
Extensions 3x10
Hamstring curl 3x10
Calf raises 3x20

Shoulders TUESDAY
Any press 4x10-12
Front raise 3x10
Side laterals or upright rows 3x10
Shrugs 3x20

Back/biceps THURSDAY
Wide lat pull down 4x10-15
Close lat pull down 3x10
Seated rows 3x10
Hyper extensions 3x10
Lat isolation pull down 3x10
Biceps
Preacher curl 4x12
Standing dumbbell curl 3x10
Cable curl 3x10

Chest/triceps FRIDAY
Flat bench 4x15
Incline bench 3x10
Push-ups 3x fatigue
Pec deck 3x10
Triceps
Push downs 3x10
Ropes 3x10
Reverse cable 3x10

rest day on wednesday.. also try and do
Bench dips or regular dips 3x fatigue
Eat good, try to do 20-25 min of cardio after you lift. Helps burn fat cause the lifting burns off your glycogen .

I use an app called "Pump Up"

It has a social media function but I don't really mess with that but it allows you to put in what you want to workout, for how long, and your goals for the workout (lose weight, get toned, build muscle) and it'll build a workout right there for you based on your info. You can also add in a cardio, abs, and a circuit training session as an add on

It's not perfect but it's good for someone like me that gets a little lost and distracted when I'm lifting. Just give me a schedule

it takes me a month straight to start with the running injuries

but I have the solution for you.

warm up on a bike for 10 minutes with some heavy resistance and your leg will be more than able to get through a 30 minute run

that does it for about everything

if you can make it 10 minutes into the run with a bum foot, you're good to go the rest of the way

J/k. I have found that my shorter friends who I help with their workouts tend to lose motivation quicker. It is tough because the lbs dont fly off as fast and it isnt as noticeable in their build. Stay the course and the results will come though
